If I were doing a $30,000 project for Houston Nutt, I certainly woudn't talk about college football or allegiances, much less wear a State shirt.

I wouldn't do anything to endanger incoming $ but really, Gundy should know this could blow up and be bigger than it should be. I would have joked w/him during the project and then gave him an orange t-shirt to keep. No sense in going child-like ballistic on anybody

the carpenter was being a dick. I'm with 615 on this one. If I were doing work for Houston Nutt, I'd probably talk some football with him if he wanted to. But I'd be respectful and friendly either way. And I sure wouldn't try to show him up by even mentioning the last 2 Egg Bowls or wearing a MSU shirt.

Couldn't just go with "If I had a shirt like that I'd want to get it filthy, too." And sure, we all laugh at the "I'M 40!" rant, but he waspubliclyberating a reporter for (wait for it...) reporting. Maybe this guy's just a dick after all. Maybe the carpenter knew it (and is one, too).

Apparently Gundy is only getting worse with age. He going to be one jackass of an old man.

if I piss them off and they decide NOT to do business with me? Okay. Glad to know that from now on. Here I thought all along that it was a free country and people could freely choose who they do and do NOT do business with.
This is a classic example of how entitled our country has become with such a liberal mindset people are given. Put some vagisil on it and get over it.

So if this contractor bought materials and turned down other jobs because gundy hired him, and then decides to fire him for quite possibly the stupidest reason possible he shouldn't be able to be compensated?

That's like a customer coming into your business and ordering an item that you spend a great deal of time and money to get because he gave you his word that he would buy it, and probably sign some documents saying they will buy it, then show up and tell you they don't want it because you were wearing an orange hat?

Gundy was being a dick and I hope he pays the contractor.

Gundy was a bit out of line, but the guy knew what he was doing, wearing that shirt. The builder was also being a dick.
Most items purchased by builders can be taken back.
There was no written contract.
This should not be in court...it's ********.
You win, award...$200.00. Enjoy.

if it does go to court, the contractor is going to have to prove that he relied on that contract to his detriment. This has got to be more than just a hypothetical $30K. Dude is really just happy to have a cause of action so that he can pressure for settlement.

I'm dead serious and as a "lawdog" I'm sure you would recognize that if said contractor had no signed agreement, the poor fellow is what I call SOL. Now if there was a signed agreement, I could see a problem there. I'm going on the thought that he was fired and didn't like it or the reason. As we in the country say, TOUGH TITTY for that guy. Be smarter when you're working for a customer and don't piss them off.

Gundy is just 17ing crazy. Mullen's behavior is very thought out and deliberate.

I would gladly trade the "virtue" of OM coaches for a few more wins.
