I saw them in '88 with Aerosmith, so at least I have that.

I'm actually a huge GnR fan. I've been on Sirius channel 41 all week. I even like Chinese Democracy. Work and home aren't conducive to going out if town right now.

I was driving back from the beach today and Sirius replayed their concert from a couple nights ago in NYC. Got to listen to most of it, great set list. I got pit tickets to see them next month in Winston-Salem.

Definitely worth it op, especially since Axl is supposed to join ac/D.C. And replace Brian Johnson since he is having issues with his voice. They put on mm an amazing show. Steve bender is was there. BUT, b need was n. Then a miracle happened. They started with my Michelle and did a couple extras but before they started Steve bender came out and got on drums for that song a just two more. It was AMAZING seeing them all on the stage together again. It brought a tear to my eye. If you can get tickets I highly recommend you do so, cause they will probably n get tour together again. It was amazing, greatest show I've ever been to.

They were my first favorite band when I was 7. Appetite For Destruction remains my GOAT to this day.

I saw them last summer in Cincy and it was awesome. We were one of the few dates that got Steven Adler on drums for two songs.

There's not as much volatility and craziness as back in the day, but the shows are starting on time. Axl's voice is a little cooked but he got better as the night went on. Slash and Duff are much better live players than they were 30 years ago. The hired hands are all talented. The band is really tight. I'm probably going to go to the Louisville show too.

Saw them in Kansas City with Metallica in 1992. Pretty epic. Waited about 2 hours in between sets...crowd was going ballistic.

Also saw them in Munich in 1993 with Queen. Watched on a giant hill that overlooked the stadium, and then ended up inside during the finale.

Seeing them again would be disappointing. I want to remember them like this...

I was flipping channels the other night and they where playing on Access or something like that. Made it through about 3 songs. Looked at my wife and said "that is sad, no where near GNR that i know." Switched channels and never gave it a second look.

Brett Michaels is playing SkyPac here in BG next month, debating on going to that, grew up in the 80's hair bands era.

I grew up in the same era. My top three were GNR, Skid Row and Tesla. I always thought Poison, Ratt, Bon Jovi, Winger, etc. were one-trick ponies who were more about image and less about making good music.

Love Tesla, seeing them in a couple weeks in Charlotte. Cinderella is in my top three of that era along with G n' R and Tesla.

1. Lol, big deal - most middle-aged males get big bellies and the fat face as they age, even '80s era front men.

2. Who is Steve Bender, referenced in an above post.

3. Saw the Nashville show last July - very enjoyable. If you liked GnR way back when and haven't seen them, I would recommend going to a show.

I saw them ( Axl was the only original member then ) in 2006 in Greensboro. Got GA standing tickets on the floor, got there when the doors opened and had a spot front row, dragged my wife to the show with me. Suffered through Papa Roach, 30 minutes later Sabastian Bach played a pretty awesome show. He finished around 8:45, Guns did not start until 11:00. Wife was pissed, still hates Axl to this day. Told her she got the true G n' R experience.

Ratt is the most underrated band of that era.

I would disagree, but that's why music is subjective and there's no right or wrong answers. [thumb2]

Full disclosure: I liked thrash metal way more than glam, although glam is what got me listening to thrash in the first place. Chicken/egg, cart/horse.

There are very few of hard rock acts from the late 1980's to 1990's that could still fill a full sized arena today. G n R and Motley Crue are two.

Seen em all. Loved them all. Crue was overall favorite. But went to see all of them numerous times. Well Kiss is all time favorite (i know they suck to a lot of people, but got a nice 12 year old birthday present from my oldest brother. Judiest Priest, Fog Hat and Kiss at Roberts Stadium in Evansville.

Ratt (Warren DeMartini is vastly underrated) Even Juan Crocier on bass.

If they where a glam band, i went to see them at one time or another.

The glam era was a weird time. The tail end of it downright sucked balls (91-94). Bands like Firehouse, Slaughter and Nelson (LOL those guys ... "metal" ... just no) killed that scene dead. Remember Jackyl? They were a fun gimmick but their sound didn't hold up well.

I'll nominate Extreme as one of the most underrated. More Than Words was suuuuppper ghey and sounded nothing like mostt of the band's stuff. Their guitar player, Nuno Bettencourt, could really shred

That's a better use of your money. Just about every band from the 80s and 90s have gone to pot and I don't know anyone who has gone to a retro show who liked it. The only big group still going worth a ticket is the Oak Ridge Boys.

After dancing with Mr. Brownstone of course. Heard Axl used to get up on time, but he started doing a little bit more and more, then he couldn't get out of bed on time. Those are the rumors going around, i have never actually known it to be true.

I thought Johnson was having hearing issues? Wasn't he told by doctors if he didn't stop he would lose his hearing all together?

I agree Randy Rhodes was a better guitarist. I was saying i went to see Ozzy during the Ultimate Sin tour. Jake E Lee was the guitarist then. Jake E Lee was a bad *** in his own right, loved his style.
