trying to figure out a good 2 or 3 night trip for me and some buddies. Golf is out as we get more pissed off than anything. One has suggested a hunting trip. I am leaning toward a fishing trip. I have seen the lodge at the Palisades is pretty cool. Also have thought about hiking pikes peaks and doing some trout fishing

I’ve been to pikes peak there are zero fish up there.

There is a guide service in Estes Park the guy that runs it is Australian his name is grant. I think it’s called Estes angler. One guide split between friends wouldn’t be bad and you get off the beaten path to some honey holes. Those fish in Rocky Mountain np do get beat to death so I would think you would want to venture to a secluded spot with someone who knows the area.

I actually was going to say Estes park. All day over pikes peak.

If you want some real adventure go to Harrison Arkansas and wear black lives matter garb.

Estes Park over pikes peak fishing or hiking? I know places on the South Platte to fish and some guides in that area.

Guess I was just thinking overall experience. Rocky Mountain national park has lots of spots to fish and there are several outside the park in easy driving distance. Plus you can pop into Ft. Collins really easily and hit a couple of great breweries. There's actually a couple of small ones right in Estes park.

But honestly I'm kind of showing my Colorado Springs negative bias. You'll be fine either place.

Brewery tour in Ft. Collins/Denver and hiking 1 or 2 easier 14ers.

Leaving today to take on the 4 pass loop in Maroon Bells outside Aspen. I'm counting on my 12 year old to pull me through when the **** gets hairy.
Post script--it kicked my old *** and his young ***. People that live at 500 ft altitude have no business up there, unless maybe you're 22. We re-named our hike the "2 pass with no backpack" journey. What's most astounding was encountering 70 year old local old ladies coming down from the passes, at that point 7 miles into the backcountry and 12K feet up. There are some really badass people out there.

We need another thread where we discuss places like Aspen that you see really stupid, outrageously rich people. My take: they seem really weird and I feel bad for their children.

Daughter and son in law are in Estes as we speak. Staying at the Stanley.

Some of you super hero nerds will love this. So comic con Denver just wrapped. The Adam West Batmobile was there. The owners decided to spend a night at the Stanley, before they headed home. Daughter and son in law got several pics in and around it.

I was just there and took a wrong turn trying to get into the Safeway parking lot. I ended up in the Stanley parking lot and couldn’t get out fast enough. F ghosts.

To be honest I was driving around waiting for my wife to come out of the Safeway and left the parking lot. when trying to go around behind I ended up entering their space. I thought that version was too long for the moral of the story that was f ghosts.

Sorry matlock!

Just admit you were high at the time. It's legal there and all.

No one blames you for hitting the snacks aisle at Safeway.

Don't you natives have a special relationship with the supernatural? I ask because I've seen poltergeist.
