I want to extend my gratitude to the GW faithful for the warm environment in Glen Ellyn yesterday. I understand it was not quite the outcome the Hilltoppers had wished, but I found the both the people and the surroundings appreciable.

I scrupulously followed your guidance and parked in a lot immediately across from the train station and did see several of the restaurants you recommended. As we strolled along the street, I did see the Italian place you suggested, but after the game, acting on the guidance from an aimable Glen Ellyn parent with whom I chatted on the way out, we chose another Italian place, Barone's, and we found it enjoyable.

Although I did not wear clothing revealing which team I backed on Saturday, two members of my party did and several GW fans feasting alongside us struck up a conversation.

No worry, however, no punches were thrown; in fact they demonstrated a high level of polite behavior and several wished us the best against Maine South.

The only obstacle preventing my defining the day as perfect was both my wife and my friend's wife's insistence we drive north of the school through several streets boasting the innumerable million-dollar homes. Women get ideas in their head and there is no telling...............

Should you ever find the Hilltoppers playing against a team in my area, by all means, I am happy to return the courtesy you extended to me and am pleased to recommend a few places to dine.

Really happy you enjoyed our town. Barone's is a big supporter of our program, so I'm glad you liked them.

The game was a humbling experience, obviously. I've been in Illinois for 7 years and that was the best football team I have witnessed first hand. Not sure I see a weakness yet the offensive line deserves a special shout out. Not sure where that team ranks in the storied history of the LA program, but I'm sure after they finish this two-year run, it will be a team for the ages.

Best of luck next week. Cheers!

Hitters got punched in the mouth. They have a great program and I am sure they will bounce back next year. LA appears to be the real deal, will see how they do against MS another storied program.
MS has great coaching and it will be interesting to see how they come out against LA. When my son played against MS in 2005 for State title I thought East would roll MS. The coaches for MS were very good and they put a very good game plan together and took us to double OT. LWE was a beast that year and I would stack them up against anyone.
Will see if MS is better than advertised or is LA just that good? Should be a good one!
