Those little touchers are all over Hyde Park and on Golden (off of Delta down by the Precinct). They have light blue on their tails and belly sometimes. Cool little bastards.

Now that I know they are illegal imports from Italy, I shall refer to them as Shembarisaurs.

I've pretty much been down with rabbits ever since Watership Down. Crows are rather dope too, maybe the smartest animal out there.

Little known fact: they're actually the secret ingredient in Skyline chili, LaRosa's sauce, Montgomery Inn sauce, and Graeter's chips.

This 'Taste of Coaching w/ Seth Davis' rountable on BTN is pretty cool. Seth, Matta, Izzo, Self, and Larry Brown having dinner and just talking college basketball & coaching in general.

SAE has A LOT of NKy/Cincinnati in him. Have always thought that. He knows it, too, and it makes him very uncomfortable which explains the complex.

How was the trip doggie? I assumed you bailed after we didn't see a complete mean-spirited breakdown...was disappointed.

Let's hear it.

Yea, same ancestry as a lot of folks up there. Mine just stayed on the boat a couple hours longer, I guess. So I get it, trust me.

Re: a complex, I'm really jealous of northern Kentucky and Cincinnati's celebration of the German heritage, frankly. Everyone in Louisville is somehow convinced they're Irish... long a frustration of mine with this provincial river town.

As far as the ski trip is concerned, I actually really enjoyed it. Perfect North is pretty dope, actually. Thought they do a good job and the facility/slopes are great. We stayed at the new Doubletree in Lawrenceburg which was nice. Wish I could have made it over to the Hollywood Casina but the lass was not having that at all. Think we'll try to make it an annual winter getaway all things considered. Reasonable, short drive, something different. As is sometimes the case my preconceived notions proved to be false...

Scott Cox is definitely a solid attorney, and he's a hell of a nice guy. Those two rarely go together.

I don't know that he's handled other UL athlete-related cases before, but it wouldn't surprise me. He could be like Louisville's version of Jim Lowry, but with way more business.

I had never encountered/heard of them until last summer when I was mocked for being surprised at the number of them running around Xavier.

Vandy has some really good young talent and setup for the future but I wonder if Stallings can control those attitudes.

Snapped at Wayne Baldwin on national TV and was frustrated with Jones the entire game including a huge blowup between the two.

Fischer-Davis, Jones, Baldwin, Kornet, LaChance is a nice little base.

About 10 years ago I dated a girl who lived off of Delta. We were hanging out at her pool and I saw one of those little bastards and thought I had made a great scientific discovery. I was as excited as a little kid. It was a touching lizard. How cool was that?

She was like, "Uh, they are everywhere."

Sure enough, we saw at least a dozen that day.

The next day she went back to her ex boyfriend. Apparently, being an idiot is not always cute.

Speaking of being an idiot… I am still at work. Gonna be crazy again mañana, too.

Yay me.

Aren't private attorneys "encouraged" to do so much pro bono every year? Chriz would be perfect for that because the attorney's name/face will be all over the news. If you're gonna have to do a free case, might as well take one that gets you a ton of free advertisement.

I was thinking the same thing as I watched them last night. Kornet was very impressive. LaChance is my new Chuck Eidson. And I think Baldwin and Stallings crushed it last night. I'm starting to feel good about the SEC again. Good, young teams, solid coaches... it definitely feels like it's moving in the right direction.

A great effect of this run we've been on with Cal is the reinforcement of fanhood with kids today. Just hard to believe that before 2011 a 12 year old had never seen UK in the Final Four. Ridiculous. Hopefully 73's kids have been saved.

And we focus a lot on the detractors, but I also suspect we're picking up more fans on a national level. Maybe not at an outrageous clip, and the naysayers certainly outnumber the supporters, but the program has had so much success and currently has so much panache folks surely have developed an appreciation.

America's Team, no doubt.

Pretty much, Vern.

Miley coming out today as a UK fan confirms.

-Kacey Musgraves last night.
What a talented/fine little lady. Had a blast with Rob's wife as well.

Bistro 301 beforehand -- good little place, had been a long time ago when it was Deke's. Rob insisted on "Plain American", so that was pretty close. Moules Frites & Pappy 15 for dad.

The Brown Theater is pretty dope...amazingly similar to The Palace, just slightly smaller -- I had no idea. Between Brown, Palace, & KY Center, our little city is pretty awesome for Theater -- They're all on par or better with what you find on Broadway for the most part, TS.

Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Dept started a turkey restocking program a few years ago and it's obviously done very well. They are doing the same thing with elk, and there are management programs to allow black bears to repopulate which is going well too. Most of this stuff is funded with revenue from hunting licenses. The increase in coyotes is due to the increase in their food supply (game birds, rabbits, deer, turkeys etc) through these management programs.

This whole dress thing is pretty hilarious/confusing/touched up, imo.

I've read all the apparent "explanations" and still don't understand what's going on. So weird. It doesn't seem like it can get much more "opposite" than BlackBlue vs. WhiteGold.

Heard on "Jew and Fat" this morning that Lady Gaga said the dress was "periwinkle (blue) and sand." I first thought, "You uppity *****." But after looking at it ... I think I agree with her.

- Thanks, 80.

- I always knew Miley was awesome. Turn up, UK.

- I love how every single sportswriter (because of course) has locked Gonzaga into a 1-seed. As I said the other day, it would be different if this was a week 1-line, but it's not. Both ACC schools, Villanova and Wisconsin have damn good arguments, considering Gonzaga's best win is either UCLA or Georgia.

- ESPN LOVES pulling the ol' "Oh we're just reporting a story" when really they're creating and perpetuating ******** that wouldn't be a controversy if they wouldn't make it so. This Vandy thing is a prime example.

-
OF COURSE, Forde comes with a pro-Pitino piece. Of course, he does. Doesn't mention the constant drama at Louisville. Doesn't mention the culture in that athletic department. Doesn't go with the "you get what you deserve" theme he hit Cal with last year when *gasp* his team didn't play well. Get pumped, Forde.

Friday Randoms

~ Have a damn squirrel living in our attic. I want to just poison the little toucher, kids want to save. Where could I get a trap for it?

~ What's the new steakhouse that opened in Lex? Former Precinct guy owns it?

~ Doubleheader with the Ark game & Roundball Bash on Saturday. Should be a nice little drunkfest

~ Looking forward to watching Huber spill drinks & yelling hate at random people all Saturday night.

~ LaRosa's pizza is legit. Jet's or Marco's is our go to for pizza delivery in Lex.

~ Need a new UK pullover. Been rockin the same one for about 6-7years.

~ Watched the Zags 4-5 times. Their bigs have 2 moves: up & under step thru or drop step muscle thru. That ain't working vs UK.

~ Adidas has the worst uni's in basketball. What ever folks head that up for them should be fired.

~ I hit up the gym 4-5 times a week and have yet to see Boat there once. See lots of our friends, we NEVER see him.

~ Had a buddy over for the Miss St game and he got so drunk he passed out on my couch, left his phone at my house, passed out in his car, and I then had to drive him home.

* The dress is obviously black (or a very, very dark goldfish brown) and blue for anyone with professional artist's eyes… or a lick of sense.

* The turkey population has exploded and expanded into populated areas in the last 15 years, but they've always been around in NKY, Chadwick.

The coyotes are probably happy there are more turkeys around, but they've been around, too. I lived at the intersection of N. Ft. Thomas and Memorial Pkwy about 20 years ago. I worked until 2:30 am and would frequently see them jogging along Memorial Pkwy on my way home at night. Saw one carrying a white cat in its mouth.

The old log cabin that was on my Dad's property in Crittenden had a massive coyote den under it. Mice and raccoons owned the inside, coyotes lived below it and 3 giant black snakes patrolled the rafters.

There is now a stack of over 50 coyote skulls next to my dad's carport.

* Marge is coming down to the game with me tomorrow, so everyone better be on their best behavior. I think the Cats come out ready. Can't help but be a little nervous, tho.

* Beavis, what is the record for Filet O' Fishes consumed during one lunch? I may go for it today.

Unfortunately, I cannot eat them or white castle any longer. I would however love to get in the blind fold wine tasting event if that were to ever happen. I'd be real curious if I could tell the difference between 5 or so different priced wines.

There's a youtube video of some little jap eating 8 of them in 60 seconds. And what happens if you get a little gluten in your system?
