I just think we're a rough matchup for them. Saw them struggle with Duke's athleticism early in the year. No reason to think that would change. They're still a helluva team and one of the few I think could possibly get us on an off night.

Thinking we can roll into the tourney with AdjO at 5 and AdjD at 1.

Re: GYER28-0

*UK. My word. When challenged and ready, it's not even a fair fight. That was a 30 point ***-whooping even though the final score didn't show it.

*Drew :) If the beard is helping his play, then I hope the mofo looks full Taliban by the championship game.

*I know one thing, this will be an EXPENSIVE march run. Ticket prices in Cleveland are outrageous. I'm not too concerned about the games here in Louisville. I'll probably just be downtown and watch from a bar somewhere anyway.

*Not that I don't want her to go, but I've been telling the wife how much extry it will cost us if she goes to the regionals.
Looked at STUBHUB yesterday and nosebleeds are $300 for the full strip. That price will probably rise once UK is confirmed. I may have to buy on the way to the game like I did last year in Indy....if I go solo.

So, Pitino has as many of his UK players in the NBA right now as he does Louisville- one a piece- Nazr and Dieng.

I think these guys are embracing the pressure - almost welcoming it, honestly. They just don't seem to be fazed by any of this.

Love Willie's stare after he swats a guy.

Fun little weekend. Didn't see Kaylee at dinner Friday, didn't really care either.

Finished the new season of House of Cards. Thought it was the best one yet. Now having to wait another damn year though...

One more week at work, then the tournament run begins.

You guys remember when some mouth breathing idiot said that teams needed to run with Kentucky to have the best chance of beating them?

It's amazing just how bad national college basketball analysts are at analyzing college basketball. Late last week, not only did Matt Norlander predict Arkansas to beat UK, but he also said the best way to beat Kentucky was to run with them and "go at their bigs." Just terrible. He seems like an OK dude, but my 17 month old has more insight into the game of basketball. I've said it before, but being a national college basketball writer requires nothing more than a journalism degree and just happening to be in the right place at the right time when a job opens up.

You definitely don't want a bunch of NYC and Jersey dickheads mad at you.

Also, I second BKH - I thought maybe if you ran with us, we'd lapse enough defensively to maybe make it interesting. NOPE. The thing is, though, I don't think slowing it down is the answer, either. I don't think there is an answer beyond hope we play like **** and you play out of your mind.

I noticed that Forde's "Cal, you made your bed" column turns 1 year old today. As Jones pointed out, that column hasn't aged well. On re-reading, I'm particularly struck by the obvious venom and bias in the column - even for Forde, it's way over the top.

And I had forgotten the extent to which Forde hammers Cal for not attending press conferences and allegedly ducking questions from reporters. Um, ever called out Rick Pitino for that, Pat?

One year later, it's astounding in its awfulness, but it's good for a chuckle.

And since nothing happened too him, ole boy volunteered to go to that crap retreat the next semester to rape another victim. Then K & Duke knew about both incidences and kept him around another 9 months.

Down 18 lbs since Jan 1. woodie. GD I'm missing pizza & beer & doughnuts tho.

Alex was on him most of the game last year (and did a helluva job), I would say Trey will get the assignment. Oh, and we do not double anybody, help defense for the win.

That's the thing. Obviously running with us is a terrible strategy that can lead to a gigantic blowout.

But I still think slowing it down sucks more as a strategy because you'd be playing to the strength of strengths with this team, which is halfcourt defense.

Basically, what it all boils down to is we are good.

-Give me UPS delivery guy as a career choice if, I don't know, I wasn't learned and everything. Solitude, clear day-to-day instructions, outdoors, listen to sports talk radio or music all/air. Would be all I needed in life.

-Mesh is a pretty impressive facility to say the least, and that bar will murder. Food/service was fine, though they're clearly working on ironing everything out. Good spot. Pitino will be there nightly, IMO (direct access to his neighborhood).

-Lass and I have been broiling burgers all winter (mostly bc our daughter loves ground beef). Really not terrible at all.

-Top 10 hangover of all time for me yesterday. Nothing was working. Just awful. Puking exhaustion, head throbbing... shewee. Felt out of the woods around 6:00 pm but did not feel good at all. Man.

-Downton Abbey finale delivered. Branson and Lady Crawley can absolutely pump themselves, selfish c***s. Best show on television and it isn't close.

-Really itching to fire that grill up at this point, however.

-Snow Wednesday?

-All downhill sledding from here on out, folks. Basketball, spring, Derby season... Let's enjoy.

-Reality is there is probably only 1 maybe 2 teams that can compete with us, and maybe none, if we're dialed in. Neither of those teams are going to really slow it down.

-Probably a little of both but pressing and running is disaster if you're shooting 0-10 and not turning us over.

-Feel like we're getting better on the d boards.

-WCS is the most dominate player in the country when he decides to play. Mercy. Those little 5 minute bursts are just jaw dropping.

-This time next week, we're packing for SECT

- Just re-read Forde's column from last year. What an unprofessional biased POS. I don't know if I've ever read a bigger joke of an article.

- Finally saw American Sniper yesterday. As has been noted, terrific movie worth a watch- even you, Adrian.

- We have some cool customers on this team. I don't think the hype and pressure is bothering them one bit.

- Need to get Booker back. Kid's gone cold. But as happens on this squad, one guy goes cold, another (Lyles) heats up.

- How about Andrew's stroke?

- Arizona may just be our biggest competition.

- Ivan Maisel's college-aged son is missing.

Booker might be cold, but he's figured out other ways to contribute. That kid is about as heady of a freshman as you'll ever see. The whole freshman class is that way, honestly. I think they have the highest bball IQ of any group we've had here.

* A lot of those UFC gals are significantly more attractive than you'd expect a group of women to be who make a living beating each other's faces in.

* Great show at the venerable Tipitina's Saturday night.

Lucero = I like a half dozen or so of their songs, but overall not a big fan. lead singer has a very unique voice. incredibly gravel-y. sounds very cool/different online, but didn't come across great live.

Ryan Bingham = absolutely crushed it. man, that guy has some serious talent. plays lead guitar, harmonica, has a great voice, and writes all of his own music. imagine that. hell of a show. unfortunately, he didn't play "the weary kind," which is shocking to me. that song made his entire career, and he won both a grammy and an emmy for the effort. his pandora station has been my go-to for about 2 years now, but he quit touring for a long time after crazy heart.

* The mmharmons are coming to town in July for Chris Knight =

* The PTI (pti)'s just booked their return trip to Key West in June =

* John Calipari made his bed.....NOW HE'S GOT TO LAY IN IT.

You know, the freaking audacity to throw that line out there. That's a line you use when Tiger's career falls apart after he bangs 800 women behind his wife's back. It's a line you use when Gilbert Arenas, once a promising superstar-to-be, is out of the NBA after a series of gun incidents.

But....

#1 = "recruiting really really really well" doesn't exactly deserve harsh criticism
#2 = the bed he's laying in tends to be in whichever 5-star hotel his team is staying at during the mf'ing final four

Awful.

* Larry David was outstanding on 60 Minutes last night. He's the funniest grumpy/crotchety/unlikeable/argumentative old man ever.

Best job I ever had was working the poolside grill at the local sports club during summers in HS/college. Fresh air, hot grill, cold beer, nice scenery.

Basically I was getting paid to do what I want to do on weekends now.

* Had a customer back in the day that was an over-the-road (as in, multi-state) driver for UPS. One of the bigger lunkheads I've met in my life, and he made $140k/year. I dropped all my professionalism and just straight up asked:

dude, how itf do you make so much money?
how do i get a job as a truck driver?
why in the world did i go to college??

* You should have woken up in the middle of the night and had 2 Advil and a sip of coconut water. You'd be aces.

Duke and Wisconsin are good enough offensively to hang with us, but those defenses doh. I think we'd live at the rim. And their lack of depth would be a huge problem. Those guys are basically "Gonzaga Plus" to me.

I still look at Nova and worry a bit. Those guys are fully capable of knocking down 15 or 16 threes.

I don't know. Duke's D is pretty suspect. They've gotten blown out by two mediocre teams. I don't know if they can win 4-5 games.

While in college I worked at UPS for a little while. Apparently you can't just jump right in to being a driver. You have to work your way up over a several year period from Unloader, Loader, etc... And when you do start driving, you basically work 12 hours a day, or more, nearly everyday, and without much time off. And at the time they made around 50-60K for that many hours.

At least that was the story I got back around 99. Could have changed significantly since then, I guess.

Villanova just had a "closer than the score" game at Xavier on Saturday. XU, while uppity, is not good, and led 'Nova by 7 at the half. Villanova pulled away at the end, but it was a pretty back and forth, tight game most of the 2nd half.

Are they a team that could put on a freak shooting night and beat us? Sure, in theory. But in theory, communism works.

T'was a good day, indeed. That little 2nd half nap we took cost me the -5.5 2nd half line, but whatever. I made my biggest bet of the day taking BYU in the 2nd half line of Zags/BYU (Zags -8.5 or something), which I have a vague recollection of doing.
