Tonight is the night that Cal needs to unleash the F'ing beast and beat WVU like the **** stain that we know they truly represent. I wish he would unleash Hell and press them on every inbounds until their spines dissolve and they **** their pants because we have another wave of McDonald's AA's coming at them every 5 minutes. Teams that press usually don't like to be pressed and that was very evident in the last 4 minutes of the MD game. They did not react well and were careless with the ball. Their offense is anemic as it is and I am sure that is why Cal will use the token press and fall back of D.

WVU has moved up into my top 5 most hated teams and Huggins style of play which is nothing more than a knife fight is the reason. F 'em. Give 'em a beat down of epic proportions.

Productivity will be absolutely shot today. Nothing I can do to keep my mind off this game tonight. And it's still 13 GD hours away.....

* One thing that was absolutely certain --> the actual game being an hour away thru Dallas rush hour traffic last year was complete bulls***. Jerry World is incredible, and downtown Dallas is awesome, but the two are just way too far apart.

* I thought I was going to be all in on Cleveland, but had a change of mind. Now, Indianapolis....

Much more doable. Two questions....

- hotels = i know the ncaa has these things on complete lockdown. anyone have an extra room to unload? or a couch/rollaway to rent out? wcc, wanna start a couchsurfing.net profile and try to shack up with some weirdos?

- tickets = these were surprisingly easy to come by last year (although i admittedly hit a nice streak of luck). im assuming they'll be more difficult this year. closer/smaller venue.

* We're going to murk WVU. No need to press. They just simply won't be allowed to score, per William Stein.

* Mexican and 'ritas last night. Gal that owns the place is Cuban. We spoke at length about the place. I'll tell you this = I'm going.

* I'm astonished about how brash WVU has been this week. They're not holding back one bit, and I'm not sure I've heard follow-up comments from the coaching staff to criticize their smack. I mean, you wanted the best YOU GOT THE BEST GO CATSSSSSS1!!!!

Hotels: got an email last night from the alumni association. Motorcoach up there, 4 nights at a hotel 14 miles from the arena, and no tickets $1500/person or $1200/person for couple...and that's without tickets

You can add the upper deck for $795/person, going all the way up to $5000 for VIP seats.

I imagine the prices won't be that bad once you get up there.

Discussed with the lass, she can't take off for the Championship game, so I'm down to roll solo and split a room as well. Inshallah

I looked on Travelocity. Typically with a big event, there *are* rooms available, they're just very pricey. I think the NCAA basically locked down the entire city, though. My search turned up.....

- the knights inn/super 8/extended stay/etc an hour away for $75

- some disgusting hostel/b&b type thing for $350

- everything else was sold out

Saturday tickets to the Final Four are expensive. Especially if you're looking at a potential F4 of Kentucky, Wisconsin, Louisville, and Duke.

Monday are relatively easy to get. Even with Kentucky in the mix.

I've been to several championship games (without Kentucky) where tickets were being handed out like candy outside the stadium.

Gameday Shorts:

- Still feeling awful so looks like I'm watching this one tonight solo. May not be a bad idea, but surprisingly, I'm even worse when I'm alone. When I'm watching with friends, occasionally, somebody will tell me to chill a bit and I'll catch my composure. Without that, I just keep feeding into myself.

- ESPN and other media conglomerates are not AGAINST Kentucky. They're pro-story. That's it. Sure, there are some media members who are anti-UK or Cal, but not entire networks.

- If Cal was "desperate," he would've taken one of the 10 NBA jobs offered to him the last 5 years.

- Few things more annoying than "you just have to hear all their stuff" or "you just have to hear them live" Guy. I've heard plenty of Zac Brown. I don't like his voice, style or songs.

- You're a kneejerk moron if you put West Virginia in your Top 5 most-hated.

- I think we beat the touch out of these guys tonight. The 5 days between give Neurotic UK Fan a lot of time to mind-touch himself. WV beating a team who handles the ball well and makes FTs makes no sense whatsoever.

- ESPN had Battier and Williams on together last night offering analysis.
Apparently, UK doesn't handle the ball well and UK hasn't faced a press all season. It is amazing how bad both of those guys are at their job.

- The lass is in a wedding in the Bahamas (where she grew up) and keeps sending me videos.

-Good call on ZBB, Chad. I've heard from so many people(namely BRax) that I just need to "give them a chance". I've given them about 8 chances. Just can't do it.

-Now that ctharris works in radio, seems like he could find some airtime for GYERO Radio? It's been a long-enough wait for that to come to fruition.

-Battier is a clown. So is Williams. Goes without saying that if those two had gone to Creighton instead of Duke, they'd be hosting drive-time radio shows in some third-tier market somewhere.

-DQ biscuits/gravy is an underrated FF breakfast option.

-Still holding out the possibility of an up-and-back to Indy for the title game. My vacation time is pretty much gone thanks to my surgery, and it's Easter, so the entire FF is out of the picture.

Check out tripadvisor. Their meta-search product is legit. Better than any one OTA. Lots of hotels about 15-20 miles away in the $200-300 range, and a Comfort Inn about 5 miles away for about $320.

TripAdvisor's Hotel search capabilities are pretty damn good. Not the easiest site to navigate, and it sends you to another site to actually book, but as far as hotel selection and price selection, it's the best.

Line up a sponsor and I'll get them to put it on.

First episode will be a solid hour of ZBB followed by All Things Gambling! with Bbdk.

I'll give GYERO a good time slot either right before or after KSR.

BBdK has the personality and sports knowledge to be a great radio guy, but you wouldn't be able to understand a word that comes out of his mouth.

Almost fell over laughing last night when Battier have his assessment last night saying..

"Well, it's a matter of one team's weakness versus another team's strengths. West Virginia loves to press and Kentucky doesn't perform well against the press and they are very turnover prone."

Good friggin grief. If you're going to make a bold assessment, do your homework. We thrive off the press and don't turn it over much at all. What team have you been watching?

You don't have to have a lot of sports knowledge to be a great radio guy. See Vanetti, Jones, etc.

Listening to Deener the other day (
), he kept going on and on about Syracuse and wondering how it was a regional site. While I completely agree with that particular topic, his lack of knowledge of UK playing in the Syracuse Regional in 2002 and 2010 was mind boggling.

I'm kind of amazed at how bad Battier is. I thought that guy was a shoo-in to be a great analyst. Instead, Seth freaking Greenberg runs circles around him.

Greenburg is fantastic. He obviously has very solid knowledge of the game & communicates his takes well. He also has the personality for tv.

If you're Greenburg why would you get back into coaching? Hey, I can do this, I'm good at it and get paid very well to travel the country to call games for the mothership and hang out with coaches & players.

Is there any doubt that Duke guys are just Duke guys? Then there's Bilas who is basically the best damn analyst out there. I actually think he cares about the game and doesn't buy into rivalries. If there's one guy all about the integrity of the game in media, it's him.

Jew & Fat this morning:

Ten minutes of talk about how it's a "done deal" that Cal goes to the NBA. (No discussion of sources, evidence)

Give the points tonight because "WVU's strength is Kentucky's weakness." (No discussion of our turnover percentage, evidence)

Jew finished up by begging the officials to just "let the players play" tonight. (No discussion about WVU fouling more than any other team in the NCAA)

Why not just come out wearing WVU gear and playing their fight song after the commercial break? F these clowns.

How does a comment like that get past EVERYONE on the show.

Last 10 games: 7,13, 13 (against Ark), 10, 7, 8, 3!, 9 (against Arky), 9, 15.

Soooo, yeah.

All you have to do to make a case for West Virginia without sounding like a total idiot is say that West Virginia sends 5 guys to the offensive glass and Kentucky tries to block every shot and hasn't blocked out a man in maybe 8 years. They'll have a chance if they get a thousand offensive rebounds. But they also suck at giving up offensive rebounds, so maybe this isn't as big of an issue as I'm making it out to be.

Well, I'm sure they get paid well into 6 figures, but no where near the 7 figure paychecks that come from high D1 schools. Think Greenberg was making over a mil, and Buzz Williams getting $2.3m - at Virginia freaking Tech. Huge difference in pay.

Plus, a lot of guys love the competition.

Ehhh let's the pump brakes a bit.

I mean, I guess it's all relative and ish compared to guys like Hubert Davis but I will agree he's much more likable in this role. I don't agree with a lot of his takes on the game not needing to make severe changes (hand checks, shot clock, wider paint) as he basically fought Bilas one Saturday AM on Game Day about college basketball needing to modify the rules to catch back up with the sport.

Most of our turnovers are from our bigs dickfingering it away those usually don't lead to transition turnover points. IF they don't score immediately after the turnover and have to go against our half court defense then forget about.

I'm pretty sure one reason WVU gets 50 offensive rebounds a game is because they miss 45 layups. I'd be willing to bet a huge percentage of their offensive rebounds come when a trailer puts back a missed layup attempt that occurred after making a steal out of their press. A press that I am not all that concerned about.

*The week leading up to these games has been OMG KENTUCK IS BEATABLE THERE JUST WOOSIES CANT PLAY TUFF OR HOLD BALL.

Then after the beatdowns this weekend the media will go the opposite way.

*OMG KINTUCKEH WOULD MURDU NICKS AT GARDEN.

These people think Kentucky might get beat because we didn't beat Cincinnati by 40. Most of them probably didn't watch 5 regular season games. After we blow out a 5 seed and a 3/7 seed they'll think we're better than the Olympic team.

It's all about what happened most recently, and how much hyperbole you can fit into an article or sound bite. They are desperate for attention and ******** hyperbole gets it done.
