It is not Louisville's fault who they play and the upsets that happen in front of them. That's the nature of the tournament - they just have to beat who they play.
But, the framing of all this as some great miracle coaching job by Pitino is absolutely ridiculous. They were the better seeded team in all 3 games. They were playing pretty crappy competition. UNI was mediocre, at best. UofL has two top 20 NBA draft picks on their team.
The other thing - what the hell with the UofL whistle - or lack thereof. I just don't get it. 40 fouls in 3 games? That is an average of just under 7 per half. Their first two games, they went til the 3:00 remaining in second half with only 3 team fouls. They had zero team fouls for the first 11:00 of the second half yesterday? Absolutely BS.
While I would have rather Michigan State lost just because, I was rooting for them because Oklahoma would have gotten rolled by UofL. Michigan State plays tough and physical - so MEGAMONTREZZ won't have a field day pushing people around. If UofL is allowed to foul, I assume MSU will be too and they like to play that way. (Devil's Advocate - the way MSU shoots free throws, they may be better off not going to the line). UofL was a horrible shooting team all year - they are so due for a 30% shooting game, with about 3/19 from 3.
Kill Notre Dame. Looks like they usually get about 20 minutes per game from their bench. Need to pound them. Get them fatigued. Keep our subs coming in. Andrew bodying up Grant, and Ulis annoying the crap out of him like a gnat. Make them work, tire those legs, and make the 3's that much harder.
