That's what happens when basically any Tom, Dick, and Harry can get accepted into a college and grab a loan for $60k. (Ir)regardless of how stupid/unlikely to be able to pay it back they are.

Pell grant also maxes out at $5750 if I'm not mistaken. Free money for poors.

College is affordable. The college that gives dad an erection about bragging that their kid went there typically is not.

Agree with Narcos > Mr Robot. They are both really good, but I just prefer Narcos.

Think I saved somewhere in the neighborhood of 200k in education expenses doing the military route.

The government, the schools, and the lenders have no incentive to do otherwise. I mean, the government should, as nondischargeable student loan debt will ultimately f*ck the economy in the ***, but obviously that doesn't matter enough.

Mention anything in there about the current student loan scheme?
Not really. It discusses loan debt, but not as a scheme. More of the focus is on rising tuition costs at state schools and how those costs conveniently go up at nearly the exact same dollar amount that average state support for institutions goes down. Basically state governments know that they can quit funding higher edu, because the schools can make up for that gap by increasing tuition costs.

When I was at Alabama, we had a president that was a business tycoon and basically changed the entire recruitment strategy to focus on bringing in rich out of state kids that could pay the premium tuition difference. Which they did in droves- to the point where there are more out of state students there now than in state. A lot of other state schools have followed that model recently.

College is a a crooked business.

uhhhh....that sounds awful.

in his last major assignment, krazykats colored a picture of his teacher with crayon, then listened to a story about sharing.

Tell ya what, gang. Ole PTI may be on to something with his wanting to run for President take. That man knows the ABSOLUTE answer to anything.

This entire land would be much better off under his guidance, at least on fiscal basis.

can't get much worse. current student loan debt is over $1 trillion. mark Cuban is probably the most outspoken critic, actually.

college can be affordable, bub. just like a lot of things.

I didn't pay for college tuition. parents paid tuition and gave me monthly allowance. I worked like a dog to pay the rest. graduated with a fat bank account and a maxed out ira. paid cash for grad school too. it can be done.

Would prefer he take over the Reds first so they could get the "Most Wins per Dollar Spent" trophy.

Jealous of PTI. Dude has to be half way or more to 6 zero's in his IRA at this point. Crushing it really considering what the average persons savings are.

costs about $4k/year to go to lcc. about $11k/year for uk. surely you rich pricks can afford one of those two.

then tell your kid to get a job.

Always have a 6'er of Busch Light in the fridge when my stepdad comes in to town for him to enjoy.

In conclusion, I'm drinking the leftover 3 Busch Lights tonight :fire::fire::fire: #headforthemountains

We had a diverse student body, I'd say the overwhelming majority of my classmates enjoyed my company...but considering I scored in the top 96% of the National Board exam, sure there might have been some jealousy.
I wonder how many other doctors that finished in the bottom 4% never bought a hot tub or house in Detroit.

-like most things do what you can afford. If you're going to Bellarmine or Transylvania to be a teacher or communication major and financing it -> dumbass. If you're going for accounting probably not a bad call.

I'm all for trade schools or apprenticeship programs. Our industry is starved for quality employees to the point it's really hurting everyone. It's not just hvac either. If you have any drive you can be making 50-60k in under 5 years. Pretty damn good money by the time you are 23. Mike Rowe crushes this argument.

Changed my tune on community college. 180. Do what's best for you. Knock those geneds out.

I will say this I think it's worth the debt to move out during college. I did both and paid for my room/board as Big A wasn't on board with it. Probably learn more life lessons and memorable experiences in that time than any damn philosophy class.

-lol at "not that drunk bbdk." Talked with mom tonight and she didn't seem to have that same opinion. In fact she said she was close to bopping him in the head cause he kept stumbling around the house, digging through the cabinet, and mumbling stuff she couldn't understand. This is while we were at the game and she was trying to watch G. Also the real reason ws was so pissed. 1 rule, same as always, no one in the house until we get home. Belated DA award recipient but obviously earned.

-bluegrass indoor karting is awesome. 2nd year taking the employees out there.

NFL... NO.
