My 270 spread is about 20 dishes deep, irrelevant.

Dumb holiday & food. Appreciate the long weekend tho.

If there is one thing Tony has truly mastered in life, it’s leaving all the Thanksgiving slop in the dust every November in favor of vacation.

When someone knows what they're doing, a deep fried turkey is pretty good. Still not at good as most other meats, though.

Thanksgiving would be weird if it were in the summer or something but having it nestled right up to Christmas where they perfectly run together with early dark evenings lit by a Kaleidoscope of Christmas lights and decor and a family get together or 4 make thanksgiving pretty dope actually.
Well yeah, Rogue. It's the celebration of the Harvest. It would be weird if you were celebrating that early in the growing season.

-picked up half a hog last night. Brother is having a bull processed next week... I'll benefit. Fish/beef/pork accounted for... need to go bird hunting.

-youngest and a friend used my tickets last night. Chaotic day, I didn't have the energy.

^wife and I were talking about how fortunate we've been to expose our girls to uk sports in person... and to a slightly lesser degree horse racing. These are experiences that should shape their lives in a positive way and give them a sense of KY culture to latch onto as they age. Good stuff.

-hosting 25ish Thursday. Handling the turkeys/hams and such. MIL's oyster dressing is a yearly treat. Rest of the sides are pretty standard fare. I may throw something else together on a lark.

i will legitimately never understand Adrian’s disdain for thanksgiving. I feel like I defend it every year and he still just can’t grasp it. Thanksgiving may be my favorite week of the year and it has absolutely ZERO to do with Turkey. Thanksgiving is way more than eating Turkey. Surely you understand that ??

It’s basically a mandatory 5 day weekend.

It is filled with great early season college hoop tourneys, and every major college football rivalry game.

It is the official lead-in to the holiday season, and all the fun cozy things that brings!

And yes, it’s a holiday centered around eating. I pick up a smoked Turkey and it’s good, but I do prefer the leftover sandwiches the next day. I just don’t see how anyone with a working brain can say “thanksgiving sucks”. Get real.

— I prefer ham over turkey 362 days out of the year. The other three days I’ll eat that fine north American bird covered in slop and likely the days following on a couple slices of sunbeam.

mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, green beans. Likely all pushed together. GDit. I can’t wait.

— Thanksgiving hasn’t been the same in my family since November 2019 before my more liberal side of the family decided we shouldn’t be piling in pa and granny’s house.

If I’m 85 and I don’t see my family on holidays then consider me already dead. No illness taking me out would be worse.

Now November 2023 comes around and that side of the family goes to one house and the other side goes to another.

— loving the insurrection footage I’m seeing on tik tok. I am truly shaking watching it just imagining how terrified our amazing and honest public servants must’ve felt with all those fbi agents running around flashing badges.

Darkest day in our nations history. Maybe next time we will get the takeover we were told happened this time. Lord knows 90% of those cucks / closeted gays / child lovers deserve to feel a little fright when dealing with the populace that they’ve sold out.

— Halloween > Christmas?
Come on Brady. What the hell is that nonsense. You slinging candy now?

So Turkey doesn't actually suck, just Mrs. Mehico's turkey sucks. Damn dude, you shouldn't call out your wife's cooking like that.

She makes the GD broccoli casserole 🙄 I grew up eating lamb for thanksgiving like a weirdo foreigner. Most of your honky food was a complete culture shock to me. But damn those deviled eggs are good ****

Thanksgiving, Xmas or any holiday is a great day! It means everyone is off work and I can slip into lakes that are off limits and catch the **** out of big bass. Eff You mining company for shutting down the 200 lakes I’ve fished for over 40 years. My happy *** will be sore mouthing your bass while being higher than bat p¥ssy.
Big props to climate change for giving me warm days and unfrozen lakes, too.
