Our elf brings elf pajamas the first night. I have that covered but I don’t know where the bleeping elf book is. Do I need that? Do I hang her from the kitchen island lights like G predicted or put her elsewhere?

Pro tip: don’t hide the elf too hard on school days unless you want to risk being late or having a huge fight or not getting breakfast eaten to whatever else.

‘Ave Maria’ FTW. No other churchy tune can touch it.

My intimate bourbon Thursday was interrupted by a nap. Gettin old, folks. More like Camp Nelson Zzzz.

Wife bought us tickets to another small Brooklyn warehouse concert without me prompting… she gets it. Bonobo Dec 29. Word.

Crafting my 7-course Fish Christmas Eve menu for 33. It’s coming quick. Gotta be nimble and prepared. Shrimp, Anchovy, Calamari, Baccala, clams featured. Ricotta cheesecake. My poor innocent KY wife didn’t know what she was getting into 30 years ago. Hahaha.

Congrats to everyone on focusing on what’s unimportant and forgetting to put the CHRIST in CHRISTmas.

Eternal salvation w/o a healthy ROI? What's the point? You're on thin ice mister.

Wouldn't be surprised if you're a last second/bullet point addition, at the next staff meeting.

UCL - ASSLOAD of Coal (which is perfect timing, because coal is dead)

(best case scenario is that Santa doesn't take "ASSLOAD" literally...)

Most of the Bible (more specifically, The Old Testament) is:

God - "I got a lot of problems with you people! And now you're gonna hear about it!"

I’ve been considering reading the Bible. I think I would really dig the Old Testament. The NT probably not so much. But what do I know? Hell I don’t really know the difference anyway. I guess one is pre and one is post Jesus’ death, or something along those lines.

Here's the Reader's Digest version:

> Old Testament - written for and by the Jewish people

(God gives up, and goes to Plan B)

> New Testament (Plan B) - written by people that formerly practiced Judaism, and then converted to Christianity.

Old Testament - Judaism

New Testament - Christianity (Judaism, but properly tempered for Western European sensibilities)

Little Drummer Boy by Bob Seger and it's not even close.

A distant second is You're a mean one, Mr.Grinch. The original.

I thought GYERO knew this.

*Nothing wrong with either of these two songs, really. But they’re nowhere near the top.

give me Silent Night (religious) and I’ll be home for Christmas by Joy Williams (secular) at the top of my list, at least this year.

*hope everyone had a nice thanksgiving and has an even better Christmas season with your growing families. I wish I could catch up and follow along more, but

*visited New Orleans with my gf and loved it. It took me 42 years to get there, but man that’s a fun town. PTI big timed me.

*nice to have the Cats winning again. I’m in the “give JVC his credit” and “let’s enjoy this” camp. Cal will get his criticism when it’s due, but so far, he’s vintage swag. Good to see.

- Not watching anything about parents who have dementia, thanks. I'm sure y'all understand. But I'm sure the commercial is great.

- Didn't realize just how many "favorite" Christmas songs/ymns I had until I started jotting them down on paper during a boring zoom yesterday. Up to around 26, actually. What can I say? I'm just a jolly fellow (disregard first random).

- There's stress, then there's parenting stress, then there's "my kid is entering her first college final exams period and she's six hours away" stress. Getting texts alternating between "I CAN'T DO THIS" and "My professor said that I would be an outstanding researcher and she would see if I could get a paid position doing research for her next semester how cool is that". What a roller coaster. Enjoy the ride, fellas.

- Three shows in the next eight nights, plus an extended spot at an open mic early next week. Why we do this(?).

- I would normally complain about an elite CBB matchup being held on a Friday night, but Kansas/UConn tonight should be the perfect nightcap on a nice little night of hoops.

- Already sick of "Home Alone" AND "Elf" and it's only 12/1. Yikes.

Rack. Nat King Cole, Andy Williams and Bing just to get us started.

-Elf update: no one seemed to care there was no elf book this year. G got up EXTRA early and found the elf, took his pillow and blanket and laid by her until it was time to get up.

I’m waiting on his help unloading the dishwasher though.

-No “All I Want for Christmas” no care.

-I also like “Love Actually”. Sorry to disappoint you guys.

-Rain, rain, go away.

Judy Garland's Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas and the Charlie Brown Christmas Song are the Affirmed and Alydar of Christmas songs. Anything else you all may list is just the rest of '78 Derby field.

Went from land grants tree lot beer > barrel aged Xmas ale > bourbon > wine > blackout > being startled awake to screams and my daughter yelling > realizing it was about the elf > peppermint mocha latte > sitting by the tree and fire > December kicks ***

Good to see you back. How was NOLA? I've been wanting to visit there for a while but they seemed to go absolutely nuts about COVID crap and I wanted to let that die down before going back.

* Dru Philips declared for the draft? Uh, good luck.

* I'd prefer UGA's backup as our next QB. Dude looks like Levis 2.0.
