- Driving thru the old neighborhood in Jtown this AM with this weather reminded me of High School and having to have a leather jacket. I wonder how outdated those things are at this point.

- Grabbed a Old Fo Single barrel pick from Kroger which will be nice for the holidays.

- Been watching several cooking reels on Facebook lately. I’ve never used the chili flakes in my Italian dishes but it’s used in every reel. Off the top of my head I can’t think of a single dish I’ve had that was spicy.

Might try it in a dish tonight.

- Not heading downtown for light up Louisville, but we will attend light up Mount Washington tonight. Small but still nice and something I loved to start the Christmas holiday off.

- During our dinner High/Lows last night the 4YO mentioned his high was the new house and everyone panicked including the nieces BF.

My family has grown to be bougie, and even though we decided against the house it naturally made me rethink it some solely based on the fact that I want to humble these kids.

- I really want FSU to beat Louisville, but man I do not want FSU in the Championship 4.

Oregon and Beau Nix is just weird and he is a for sure top 10 pick after looking mediocre at Auburn for the most part. Give me Oregon.

I honestly think BAMA beats UGA, and if that screws UGA out of the 4 somehow that would be gross!

-in general: English choral Christmas music and nat king cole's Christmas album do the heavy lifting in my home.

-#teamkook... but ave Maria, while beautiful is the "solid chain restaurant" of sacred vocal music.

Quebec city & Montreal:

-stayed in the old parts of each city. Great historic vibe. 6" of snow in QC... beautiful, but a bit of a slog for walking.

Lodging highlight:

-place was incredible. A proper luxury hotel.

Dining highlights:

os a moelle (bone marrow),
boudin noir a bacon... both outstanding.

https://www.gardemanger.ca/

raw bar: smoked sturgeon pate and pei/new Brunswick oysters.

Lamb dish was one of the best things I've had in the last few years.

-via rail to and fro. Trains are awesome.

-overall: nice little trip. European feel... close ish to home. Highly recommend.

-go cats.

Heartwarming to know lil G still has some adorable kid innocence left. Sleeping beside the elf? 🥰 When Uncle W is around he’s typically too cool for school.

-Someone just post a picture here of our custom WC logo French Laundry menu. I mean, it kinda speaks for itself.

-Feliz Navidad goes so hard imo. Worship.

Entire Elvis Christmas Album
Carol of the Bells....TSO
White Christmas...Bing

Pacers games have beat the over in 15 of 17 games so far.

Gray skies, wet/dirty leaves on the road, cars always need washed, dog paws all over the hardwood.....yep, just a great season. 90 degrees any day over this mess.

Basement reno....bourbon barrel bar/flooring/lights/big screen/paint all done. Pool table arrives Monday, then just fine tuning w/ the decor.

Reed is a surprise gem...thought he would play second fiddle behind the NBA picks, but the college game is made for him, especially w/ what he has between the ears. 2 yrs here and then see what happens. If he sprouts to 6'5, then Booker all over.

Homemade treats on the counter until Jan 1...
PB fudge
Oatmeal/Sugar cookies
Choc Chip cake

Stay safe, wet, hard, and enjoy.

Quickies:

- Going back to the old school/program tonight with the new program I'm involved with now. Mixed emotions. Going to lay low, help our team, and get out.

- Top 5 indicators that you are watching "old football" footage/highlights:
5. There is part of the baseball diamond on the field.
4. The score ribbon is in a block in the bottom right of the screen, or not visible at all.
3. It's in black and white.
2. Loose sleeves
1. Old astro-turf.

- I don't think you could play on a more dangerous surface than astro-turf. It looked like faded green parking lot . . . especially in the rain when the stadium lights would glare off of it. Those dudes may have been better off playing on gravel or shards of glass.

- Speaking of, the field turf with the black rubber coming up will be the new indicator of watching "old football" footage imo. Sand or white rubber is replacing it.

- Going to fully buy back-in to the Cats. That means I'm ALL-IN. John Vincent Calipari, get off the couch and get in here!

- These are a great snack! I recommend the avocado toast flavor.

- My wife is an art teacher with a strong love for interior design. We have Christmas trees and decor. My goodness do we have it.

- Jack Harlow at Diddle Arena tomorrow night!!!!!!!

Lets see what rogues financial advisor says before we jump to any conclusions
Good call rather than listening to someone on here tell you 72K toward a house is actually only worth 10,800K.
Rogue is *very* available.

Just saying.
Sorry bubbers, already said I got a job. I AM COMMITTED to TWO days a week (M-T) and then can pick up whatever I want so if I want to bounce down to the Keys, up to Chicago like I am in Jan or back home for a visit, work M-T and roll out for 5 days without worrying about getting anything covered or asking off, pretty sweet.

It’s ridiculously easy and quick too. Dinner/bar rush from 6-8, winds down after that, leave at 10. Easy little 6 hour shifts.

- @Wodie Sloot i don’t care if people talk about their kids at all. I’m just not interested. I just don’t make a scene about it like when people don’t like my posts or content they make an entire post themselves about my post. It’s okay, sucks to be weak-minded I’m sure.

-Dads other son done touched up and was trying to get my dad to tell the family he wants other son to have his car so he can sell it for money but accidentally sent it to another family member as well as dad so now there’s record of his manipulating an old dementia patient.

Also, told his daughters they may have to leave the country because people are after him.

Just die or go to prison already man, Christ. Texted him to do just that as well.

-Nothing better, as Chad said, than listening to pod after pod of journalists talking about UK again.

- excited for the debut of the new floor tomorrow. The state outline should be fire at mid court.

Even more excited to hopefully see how Bradshaw fits into this offensive pace that we’ve started out on. Don’t screw this up Cal please I’m almost all the way back in

- Elf on the shelf is easily the most suburban white person thing that can be done for Christmas. Congrats on officially becoming part of the American dream, Ron

- Christmas is the worst holiday for me and I’m genuinely a giving person. I just hate the awkwardness of receiving anything (lol).

I’m also terrible at picking stuff out for other adults. King of the gift card here. One thing I won’t do like an uncultured rube is go the pre paid visa route. Yes you will be shopping where I decide

Got the kids (9 and 8) a small 125cc gas powered four wheeler. It’s our first step up from the 12v. mom and grandma arent thrilled. Top speed just over 30-35 I think they’ll be fine.

The ol ball and chains got a heated blanket for her anemic ***. Crazy how expensive those things are. Especially if you want one that isn’t made for a Barbie doll.

Usually get my dad a couple cases of beer (bud ice 16oz) but his weed eater has been terrible to start the past few times I used it and since I’m knocking out the hillside and creek bank once a month on top of him going around the house it’ll keep him from buying a new one and it’ll save me a few cranks myself. Stihl or nothing for him.

Having trouble finding something for my mom though. She’s about like myself she just buys whatever she wants when she wants it. Doesn’t put a lot of extra thought into it. Will discuss further with my little sister.

My sister and I came to a mutual agreement that we weren’t gonna buy for each other. This happened about three years ago when we both just gave each other Amazon gift cards. For the same amount.

Besides stocking stuffers and a few smaller things for the kids the rest will be gift cards.

- I have an ex that listens to Christmas music while cleaning NO MATTER THE TIME OF THE YEAR. If she was cleaning it was fa la la la time. For that reason I’m out on any Christmas tunes.

- Taking the little girls team to memorial to see the lady cats on the 17th. I’ve never felt more obligated to do anything in my life after they had such a good time at the Louisville women’s game last season. I even had to watch them throw up the Ls. They get to go on the court at memorial so I’m hoping it tips the scale back in the favor of the goos guys. They’re only (mostly) fourth graders so there’s time.

- looking into booking a trip to Yellowstone sometime in the coming months. The kids loved the Grand Canyon last fall I think they’ll love Yellowstone too

New York Voices' version of "I Wonder as I Wander" is the GOAT Christmas song for me. The Mel Torme' Christmas Album has been a staple since my childhood as well. So apparently my family was always into the Jews writing/singing Christmas songs thing, HK is on to something.

The August Burns Red Christmas album also rips. Carol of the Bells rules as a metal track, orchestral number a la Home Alone, or vocal version.

-Love the chairs Christmas songs most recommended, The Christmas Song is top dog for me this year along with I’ll Be Home For Christmas.

-Never realized how much better I like the “new” modern church music compared to the stuff in hymnals I grew up with until I went to moms old school church last week.

Those old songs still want me to fall asleep. How do they expect to get kids and young adults into church singing that garbage. It’s barely English and just not fun or relevant anymore being written in the 1800s and early 1900s.

Now the old school Christmas ones “hit” different. Christ, I hate that term. Nothing “hits” different, you mean you like it more. But the O Holy Night and whatnot are the heat.

<— Has zero idea who wrote most any song, I either kike it or I don’t. See what I did there…

Welp, at least someone posted the snackdown or was this Newsome’s menu?

Edit, second look, that was just 80 Proof’s order, granted they were small portions.

Any of the crooners, Sinatra, Martin, Como, Crosby, Torme are always must listening.

Iconic is Nat King Cole's "The Christmas Song" and Charlie Brown Christmas album.

Choral division "Carol of the Bells" and "O'Holy Night" are 1 and 1a.

1960's and beyond Darlene Love's "Baby Please Come Home" and Beach Boys "We Three Kings" are superb. I like the Waitresses "Christmas Wrapping".

Worst are the usual suspects. McCartney's " Wonderful Christmastime " and Springsteen's "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" are terrible . Mariah is fine, it's just overplayed. "Christmas Shoes" is so bad it's good

Another song I hate, I don't know that I have heard played on the radio but there is a song out there called "Mary Do You Know" that is a staple of every small town school choir and every Protestant Christmas program I have ever been roped into going to. It's always delivered by a soloist who combines grave.solemnity with a wannabe Celine Dion and it always comes out like a failed American Idol audition.

Good to see you back. How was NOLA? I've been wanting to visit there for a while but they seemed to go absolutely nuts about COVID crap and I wanted to let that die down before going back.
We made the most of it. Five days, Friday-Tuesday. A couple walking tours, French quarter and garden district. Ate really well…two meals a day usually, all at different places. Peche was probably my favorite. Only repeat was cafe du Monde. WWII museum was amazing. We spent seven hours there and could have spent more. So much interactive stuff, just can’t get to it all in one day. Trolley ride through most of the town…through Tulane and whatnot. Tarot card reading at the voodoo shop on bourbon street just for fun. Jackson square pop up with artists. Live music on Frenchmen’s St was lit.

Overall, would visit again. Maybe Jazz Fest.

If Bama beats UGA, I still think they stay in the top 4.

Now if Louisville wins, and Bama wins, does Bama jump OSU?
Not a chance in hell if you ask me, but they should.
