If there is one thing UNC has shown through the years, it’s that they have ZERO integrity. Lol like loyalty to Duke or a rivalry would keep them from doing what is in their best financial interests. They’re scumbags.
That ship has sailed. It’s every man for himself. Adding Duke in football is not moving the needle. That’s all anyone cares about. The Big 10 Saturday night schedule was atrocious. Top heavy league. Adding Oregon and Washington will help but no one is waiting for Duke-Illinois football game on a Saturday night except those players family.

In 2013 my buddies and I went to the UK vs Carolina game in Chapel Hill. I’ll admit, the campus is beautiful and the town itself was a blast. The in game atmosphere in the Dean Dome was alive for that one. Like a Rupp crowd, they got up for a big game.

All that being said I’ll never forget for the rest of my life an encounter I had postgame at this restaurant bar while waiting for our table. Some Tar Heel alum cracker started to lecture me on all things “The Carolina Way” and how Cal was ruining college basketball. After about 5 minutes I had more than enough and just teed off on the entire bs covered facade that is “The Carolina Way”, called out the hypocrisy being anti one and done and went deep on their athletic department and university being investigated for creating an entire department keeping athletes eligible. What a collection of snot nosed self righteous asshats.

Agree on Dean Dome...did something similar with a buddy of mine shortly after college.

Road trip to Chapel Hill. Stayed the night in Mayberry. Rondo, Morris, Crawford, Bradley Freshman year...we were drubbed by future Champs at UNC.

Still a good time. Carolina fans are hit or miss IMHO....much like ours, lol.

One guy in a sweater vest and Oxford cloth shirt meets another guy in a sweater vest and Oxford cloth shirt. They immediately think they have a lot in common…until sports comes up.

It's not just Richie.

I am a large human, aware of my size, am pretty quiet by nature and never initiate trash talk. Just not my style. Yet I've never ceased to have been amazed at how UNC fans, in my experience, love to start sh*t - not only before we've played them, but also even after we've just beaten them.

Whether in close quarters at a bar, or 100 yards away outside an arena, they'll spot UK fans from a distance, approach, and start their yakking.

This has played out over many years, and at many venues, with multiple UNC fans of all age ranges each time, including many NCAAT sites.

-1993 FF in NOLA

-1995 E8 in Birmingham

-1997 FF in Indy

-1998 FF in San Antonio*

-2000 and 2002 in Chapel Hill - both *before and after* we beat their *** by double-digits on their home court both times.

-2016 Las Vegas

All just as Richie described.

It's quite uncanny, really. Must be part of their cult ure.

Some think I'm psychotic and one-dimensional, and maybe so. But this is precisely why we created The Quiz in 1998* (finally stopped updating it in 2012 - long since retired).

It is factual and undisputable. It's a little handbook to end all arguments and trash talk. And in 2000, in Chapel Hill, it did exactly that on a bus full of Tar Heel fans, on the way from Franklin Street to the Dean Dome, to go to the UK-UNC game that year.

About 8 of us got on the shuttle and immediately they started going in on us, as we knew they would. I had printed about 30 copies of the Quiz and walked up and down the aisle, handing them out to everyone. Silence, followed by lots of cursing and littering.

These days, I hate even bringing up The Quiz in here, but if there's ever been a perfect segue for my stories, today provided it.

I've never seen a group of fans of any level of any sport, who love to start sh*t like UNC fans.

I guess it's a sign of deep and widespread insecurity that permeates that entire fan base, of all ages. As exemplified by our unwelcome resident UNC "fan" poster.

Never thought of it this way before, but he is a perfect symbol of the other UNC fans I've encountered over the years, as described above.

Go tend to your own business and GTFO.

Typically as a natural ******* to anyone I don’t know I never get into many situations where people think I’m going to be friendly enough to start talking much trash too. Not in a rude or disrespectful way anyway.

So I'm at my grandmothers funeral a couple weeks ago, and this dapper octogenarian fellow sitting next to me happens to be wearing a University of Louisville broach. We exchange pleasantries and discussed the upcoming edition of the Dream Game, and I wish he and former Cat Kenny Payne well on the rest of their challenging season. He mentions that he's always been fond of Calipari and the way he conducts himself on the sidelines, and even compliments his in game defensive execution, to which I cordially agree. The pastor, my grandmother's longtime dear friend, reminisces on her life and shares stories about their relationship over the years, to which this gentleman and I nod in agreement. She was an exceptional lady, we both say, and I compare her fondly to all time Wildcat legend Adolph Rupp. With a smirk, he comments that she was an unbelievably kind person, but was certainly no racist like the Baron of the Bluegrass. As they're lowering my grandmother's casket into the ground, my ears perk up at his ridiculous statement. Unable to help myself, I unload a wealth of knowledge on this poor imbecile. With veins popping out of my neck, I give him a stern lecture about Louisville's mistreatment of Bumpy Simmons, the city's racist policy of school bussing, and catch him up to speed on the horrors suffered by Eugene Scott Clayton as an Alderman in the late 1800s. He and the rest of the funeral procession had no clue what hit them, and they picked the wrong Cat fan to mess with. Wreaths and flowers are being placed in the burial plot, and I'm seething with rage, shouting as this pathetic, 80 year-old, wrinkly *** Dirty Bird prick to eat a fat one, then remove my Barbour and challenge gramps to a fisticuffs right then and there. Ls down. Big Blue Nation FOREVER. F the Cardinals and their dirty, no good, piece of s*** fans. F him. GO BIG BLUE!!!!

Can you post the quiz here for d/l? I’ve lost it, but sure someone has.

Saw AtlantaHappyCat as always, was actually shocked/disappointed you weren’t there.

I gave him a nasty message for you, which was deserved, I trust/hope it was delivered?

UNC fans were quiet this time. Assume bc they know ole Hubes isn’t the one, or close.

They’re a fluke Caleb Love/Kemba lite run with a bubble team (NIT to follow with same team minus Brady Bird) to being *yikes* in his illustrious 57-26 tenure.

#CarolinaWay lol. Good luck with the next Roy 🦄 Bc it isn’t Hubert, and probably not Wes.

Dante Calabria? Henrick Rodl? Rashaad McCants? 🙏

I think I was originally blocked by Mike Rutherford after he made passive aggressive comments about Adolph Rupp and his/UK’s race relations that caused me to go on a Twitter guerrilla warfare.

This was the night before the 2012 game at YUM and the year they won the title. He wrote some horse **** infested column about all that was wrong with Cal and Kentucky Basketball including something along the lines that the program’s foundation was built by a racist. I came with facts including multiple black players Rupp recruited before Tom Payne but the manor in which I delivered them was a bit much. Called him an ignorant Little Brother toad that’s jealous of Kentucky’s success.

I’m honestly surprised the Twitter police didn’t place a permaban on me after that evening.
