The portal takes yet another great coach from the college game.

Holy Moly that is out of the blue and absolutely insane.

Why the f would Smart go to Bama?
He wouldn’t. Kirby played at UGA. Only Bama fans and idiots would think it’s possible.

Good luck to whoever is crazy enough to follow Nick Saban. That fanbase will eat him alive.

After Bear Bryant they hired Ray Perkins and then Bill Curry to name a few. So good luck to Bama on their search to find the next Bear/Saban.

Hottest of takes incoming. Go get Deboer from Washington. Winner everywhere he's been, just took the biggest school he's coached to a National Championship game and he'd be hungry as hell to get back. Similar guy would be Lanning at Oregon.

Jim Harbaugh will be coaching in the NFL next year a la Pete Carroll and USC.

Dilly is going to be something in the NBA. Reed and his lack of ability to defend guys one in one will match up well in the NBA since nobody plays much defense until the playoffs. Wagner keeps getting better and better. KY will have the best back court in the tournament and guys (although young) who will not GAF about the moment. A lot to work on but the pieces are there.

This “no D in the NBA” take is the kind of ******** my Dad says. Absolute nonsense.

No way Harbaugh stays in college imo and if he does it won’t be at Bama.

My buddy texted and said it would be Pete Carroll and I said he’s 70, so you think they want a 70 year old coach(he’s a young 70 but still).

Also, Carroll isn’t a Tuscaloosa type guy, no chance he wants to live in Alabama for any amount of money.

I forgot about Lanning. He should be on the list.

I mean Dabo is a Bama boy but just seems like he’d be such weird fit now in Tusc.

Kirby Smart 🤣

Finebaum saying Lanning has to be option 1, and comes with a 20M buyout.

Chad, I’m really sorry about ever typing Jones name, but isn’t it insane then there was a reason for a kid putting up 27/12 to stay a 2nd year which was the point.

Rob is rondo?

Is Kirby leaving?

Ummmm. No.
Rob has the Rondo mentality of not giving AF about what the coach is saying. both CG. With a better jumper. The comp isn't rocket science.

ESPN said that Kirby would be the most likely replacement as the Atlanta rumors were likely false. If not Kirby then Dabo. Those idiots.

Anth, you haven’t watched an nba game all year. Likely not a full game this decade. Teams are scoring 140-145, but yea, D is top notch.

- Didn’t root for him but hard not to like Saban. Had a great sense of humor. Appreciated how he built his program.

- Some of those potential names listed. wtf

- IU would hire Dusty May who likely is just another flash in the pan. What a joke of a program.

- Love when Dillingham’s legs go all spidery and he knocks down a contested 3. Kid’s shooting what - 45% from deep?

- Think Shep’s inability to guard the ball may bring him back another year. That said, his steals/blocks at the guard spot are Thybullesque.

- Say what you want about Bradshaw but he’s a big game/big moment player. I don’t see the NBA prospects but like him.

- Edwards is realizing the speed and athleticism of the college game. I bet his skill in and of itself is pretty high for a 6’7” freshman but he’s not quick and not bouncy. He certainly can’t take the guards who play the 3-spot in college off the bounce. And he’s our 3rd best 4.

Bama's history is a lot more Mike DuBose, Mike Shula, Bill Curry, Ray Perkins than it is Bear Bryant or Nick Saban.

12 titles in those 42 seasons you are dismissing as meaningless, and God knows how many close calls there were to more.

Good grief what an ignorant post.

Glenda has a good point, Tre Mitchell has saved our *** quite a bit this year and is underappreciated given the level of freshman talent we are enjoying. Tremendous passer, excellent shooter, smart ball player and works his *** off every game.

Gives me the same vibes I had for Ray. Yeoman, if you will.

No one says 12 titles are meaningless.AH. Where do you get 42 seasons? Bryant was hired 63 years ago, so 12 titles in 63 years littered with a lot of average seasons and and about a half dozen close calls in a sport with not a lot of parity. UNC basketball fan and Bama.football lover, good grief you're pathetic and stupid.
Stallings got one title but how many coaches not named Saban or Bryant won titles at Alabama in the modern era after WWII. The answer is zero ignoramus. Eight other Alabama coaches in that time frame didn't win ****.
