I went to a Vandy alumni event in Miami last week. It was a lavish fundraising event. The Chancellor was there and they did presentations on the school, had some professors speak, lasted about 3 hours total. Not one mention of athletics.

What are your thoughts on Stack? Obviously, I hate his Tar Heel guts but I thought he was well-respected by other coaches for the “stuff” he runs. Why hasn’t he had success? Sub-question- what kind of coach do you think would do well there at this point in time?

I think he's good with X's and O's but he's not exactly a people person. I know Bryce Drew had a horrible (winless) year but IMO they were too quick to fire him. At this point they need a relentless, hardworking coach who is a promoter of the program. When I was in school (30 years go) Memorial Gym was packed for games. Now attendance at basketball is awful.

- I'd treat Vandy like a successful mid major program. Get a young, up and comer coach and establish a culture/program that thrives on under-recruited kids around the region. Make yourself Belmont/Lipscomb on steroids. Shoot, take the best players from those teams and have a Nashville "all-star" squad?

- After the ad nauseam player comps for Dillingham, I think I have it. Trae Young.

- Edwards is a member of the CJ McCollum All-Stars. His face doesn't match his body. That's not necessarily an insult, it's just a face that doesn't look like a future pro athlete.

If you took a professional head shot of Edwards and McCollum, they'd look like a 90s R&B duo - not athletes that are part of a professional basketball franchise.

I'll throw in Trevor Lawrence . . . for equity's sake.

- Random theory - it's easier for Cal to manage a game when there are less "available" players. He does a better job of managing minutes and the flow of the game when there are only 8 guys in the rotation (with a random 9th if there is foul trouble). When he feels like he HAS to play 10 or 11 guys, it gets hairy. So . . . could there be a super secret "load management" rotation? I genuinely think DJ and Theiro are/were hurt. But these mysterious illnesses? Just sayin'.

Just for fun’s sake, what would keep the SEC from shedding a Vandy when they start adding more teams if it becomes a super conference with the B10?

Not saying I want that at all, just don’t know if there are clauses or anything for the originals.

It’s not like they bring in money, as far as I know, but they’re definitely not going to turn it down.

Honestly just curious.

I don't know if he's the guy for Vandy, but someone's gonna hire Amir Abdur-Rahim and look like a genius. Went from a one-win season in his first year at Kennesaw State to 28 wins and the NCAAT in Year Four, and already off to a 16-5(9-1) start in his first year at USF. Believe he was also a main reason why Anthony Edwards ended up at UGA.

Lot of these dudes out there right now, waiting for their first Power Five opportunity: Abdur-Rahim, Josh Schertz(Indiana State), Darian DeVries (Drake), Matt Langel(Colgate), etc. Not necessarily a great year for AD's at elite programs to be hiring, but weaker Power Five schools (like Vandy) definitely have some great options.

Sounds like Tommy Rees was considered for the UK OC position but is gonna stay committed to the Cleveland Browns.

Damn! I mentioned him and sure wish we could have convinced him because his offenses have all been very good!

Hopefully we hear something soon.

Have Rees's offenses been good because of him or talent? His offenses looked pretty old school which is why Stoops liked him probably.

Well Rees has a few Notre Dame guys in the NFL that flourished in his offenses too.

My thought is any coach that was under Saban and learned that discipline and tutelage is going to be more successful.

The Liam stuff is so overblown, and basically leaves out the fact his Head Coach/Boss was literally on his way out the door until it blew up in his face. Funny how most people just leave that part out.

IDGAF about Liam Coen, but Stop it with the loyalty ********. Dude has the keys to an NFL Offense, his dream, an hour from his dad.

The Liam stuff has actually flown pretty well under the radar, relatively speaking. I think most fans…..

- realize a Mark Stoops OC is pretty irrelevant
- never like Coen that much
- weren’t that impressed with his ability

Pretty emotionally unattached to the guy, imo.

-ha... he didn't lie to me. I know you're not a simple person... but you're not picking up what I'm laying down.

^there's no substance to the guy... ergo he is a shitbird.

Like me, I think most didn’t give a damn when it was realized all the kids saying they came to play in his pro style offense didn’t give a damn about him leaving and are also staying.

In the end, that’s all I care about which is why I like Stoops/Marrow.

The transfer portal is currently closed. We'll see how things go when it opens up again. Buster Faulkner seems to be the hot name right now. Would be good to have a guy on the staff named Buster.

LIAM can EAD. I think all of the reals realize that the offense in 2021 was attributable to the following things, not necessarily in any specific Order:

1. Chris Rodriguez
2. Badass O Line
3. Wandale
4. Healthy Will Levis

LIAM did a good job with what he had, which admittedly, was quite a lot. The future was bright, we were hopeful. Then he left us. To be a non play calling cuck for an offensive minded coach that didn’t trust him. And never did. F**k him strike one.

We then hired some piece of **** who would have struggled to get his MA as a grad assistant under Eddie Gran. 2022 - total disaster. mulligan year. Wipe it from your memory.

LIAM comes back, and proceeds to call the exact wrong plays at the exact wrong times and causes a potentially good, or at least SEC mediocre, offense to totally tank. I mean, the guy was a train wreck this entire season. I often wondered if he was higher than I, which is saying something. LIAM - strike 2.

NOW you go to a piece of **** NFL franchise hitching its wagon to fu**ing Baker Mayfield? Ha. Enjoy, douche. We could make 80Proof our offensive coordinator (probably for free) and get better results than that flaccid, weak ginger piece of ****. Shoot LIAM to the moon and **** down his throat. F**k LIAM. Strike 3, you’re out, *****.
