I just don’t see how anyone who played sports would be stressed about tournament time.
That's a.ridiculous take
Tournament time is like a drug addiction, highest of highs, lowest of lows. As you're winning, there's hardly anything better, can't sleep, you're completely wired but everything in the world is a little better, a little prettier so long as it doesn't affect that next game. Concentration on work, forget it. Other social activities, nope, gotta find things where they're talking about your team. Superstitions get more ingrained, clothing you had on last game, what kind of meal you had, did my kids or wife watch part of the.game with me and how did the team perform when they were there, so now they may not be allowed in. You yourself might not watch if things get tight because of that time you left the room, the team played better when you went into the kitchen, so you're banning yourself to the kitchen. Even if you don't believe in God, you're thinking maybe you should and you start negotiating with him, her, or it.
Then when they lose, it's devastating. If they only had done this one thing differently, someone forgot to show up to play on this night of all nights, or same old ******** from some player or coach that's been an issue all season. It's like a death of someone close, you don't want to get out of bed, go to work. Another wasted season, what are you going to do until September when at least football starts. Then you get pissed about how you let this stuff rule your life and how you should really focus on something that is worthwhile and rewarding because even though you say you're not going do this to yourself and your family again, you know this is who you are and you're going to do it again
But if they win, it's all worth it.
