Went to a couples shower yesterday. Pool. Keg. Karaoke. Richie's Fried Chicken. No opening cards/gifts. No dumbass games. Two thumbs up. Would participate again.

Actually wish it would rain just a time or two. Lawn is thirsty.

Yep. I mowed yesterday and the lawn was as dry as it has been all year. Summer is damned near over anyway. I'm sure if it gets as cool as they say this week, the trees will notice.

'Bout time for that one last cut at the lowest setting to really skin the yard for fall/winter...

I weedeated the **** out of my yard yesterday. Knocked down every weed or vine I could find to the damned dust in hopes that I could retire the weedeater for the year. It's unrealistic to think there won't be a few more mowings though. Plus the mower makes a great rake for the leaves.

weekend randoms

Went to Cleveland for friend's wedding. While the drive up there sucked (thank you Cincinnati traffic) actually the part of town we were in was pretty nice (Westlake/Rocky River). Good to see my old Florida crew again, few of them will be coming in for Keeneland and the Celebrash.

Listened to the Serial podcast. For the most part I liked it, except the ending. Pretty crazy little story. Baltimore man.

Steady sunshine and Tomato food diet has the garden bearing much fruit. About to be flush on some tomatoes, finally.

So Stoops had his worst practice followed by his best? He pull an Eric Taylor and have them running night sprints in the rain?

Less than two weeks. Giggity.

Exactly, Anth is an idiot.

The REASON this weather is so great is that it's a fall teaser. Yep, pretty much what August usually brings in KY. Dude has a pretty poor/selective memory, and is basically arguing against himself by posting/bragging about these nice semi-cool days coming up.

Just too many memories of being in Commonwealth or Papa John in September and feeling like I'm sitting with the sun only 5 miles overtop my head for 4 hours to be fooled into thinking summer/heat is over & a pleasant fall is upon us

-I mean I almost feel like I should just take the week off. Shew.

-First game is a 7:30p so I hope it's nice and toasty that day.

-Quality weekend. Those little neighborhood fairs always seem like a great time but we went to two this weekend and the beer/food lines at both were 100+ deep. West 6th and Blue Stallion lines were double that. Still nice to get the little dude out.

-One thing this staff has that is refreshing is a sense of urgency. You can tell how much this season means to them. Stoops may fall over from a stroke any minute. Dude is dialed in. Don't know if it translates to wins but it won't be from lack of trying.

-KSR scramble this Friday, I assume hitting the range a couple times might be a good idea. Haven't played since Eli 2013, IIRC. 12p start time for this thing? Bleh.

-Stadium is looking great. Hoping to get in there this week. The new blue seats look swell. Hopefully they don't fade into Carolina blue.

-That little piece the Rock is banging in Ballers. SMOKE. Still an awful series.

<-Did no yard work. Even as a new Dad I don't feel the urge to do any. I just get NO enjoyment out of that ****.

-.

Indeed. No telling how many times we've gone to ___ Festival thinking it would be a good way to spend an evening outside. Walk in, see lines for tickets to stand in another line for food/beer --------> leave and go find a restaurant/patio somewhere. This probably happens at about a 95% clip, in fact.

-Hope it snows Sept 5th. :100points:

Look up average temps, bub. The 70's are a bit low but low-mid 80's and 60 for the overnight are the average. Mid 90's and 100's are extremely rare around here. Less than 21 days a year rare for the 90's.

But sure, if you want to ignore historical averages that's cool.

You're completely ignoring humidity, which is what typically makes August the worst when it's in it's nasty form.

Again, very poor memory being displayed on your part. I'm 36 years old with extensive August experience, I don't need select stats from a child to try and disprove the absolute FACT that August is typically nasty way more than it is pleasant like this upcoming week.

July is the hottest month of the year scientifically, and it still >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> August, for many reasons.

August is boring, usually very hot, & just sitting in the way of the new season that real sports fans long for.

This is very simple

Yep. Just as I posted. Mid 80's is our avg high temp. Just brutal. I hate when it's 85 degrees out. That's also our high point the first weeks of August. We're on the way down for daily avg temps now. Congrats to all involved.

Pretty cool seeing construction activity for the new Fayette Co high school on Winchester Rd.

The new YMCA in Hamburg should be dope, and literally 2 minutes from my house...hope that will be motivating.

Paying for that membership should be a fun expense while you continue to increase your neck size into the mid 20's.

610 Magnolia Friday night....man, what a treat that place is. Still as good/unique of a place as I've been, anywhere. $$$$, which is why I've now been only 4 times in 15 years, but worth it now and again for a special occasion.

...ended up at Buck's for a nightcap, talked to this 70+ year old host who was "Filling in tonight" for about 30 minutes, before he finally introduced himself as Buck as we were leaving. Apparently comes in to work a shift here & there when needed just to still feel a part of the place (he sold out long ago). He actually got his start serving at 610 for 15 years (way back before Ed Lee took it over), and finally saved enough money to open his own place. Another great spot in Old Louisville.

-82 yesterday. Smooth 44 on the front, then TRIPLED 10. Played -1 from there to keep it from really getting embarrassing, but disappointing nonetheless. Clubs ----------> Trunk, after this Friday of course.

...speaking of weather, looks like the absolute perfect golf/drinking weather on Friday. Damn I love August! [banana]

-Tiger, damn. At least he birded 4 of 6 on the way in, including 18. Nice way to end his season I suppose, even though he didn't win. Seems like next year will be THE YEAR that tells us if he's going to ever do anything again.

-KSR Scramble this weekend
-UK Football Opener next Weekend
-Vegas the next

...and sports every week/weekend to look forward to for 6-7 months after that. K bye summer. :fire:

I've been beating weather to death for years. Same for trying to mock you into shape. Think I'd have better luck changing the politards opinion.

It's amazing what stupid a-holes so many of these professional athletes are. I mean, Cris Carter- what a stupid a-hole.

-Crushed Kentucky Lake/Moors this weekend, per usual. Usually get to one once every two years or so, but I'm about as good of a lake goer as you're going to find. Domesto crushing, laugh inducing, crowd pleasing music player, excellent griller, last to bed and first to rise. I just crush lakes. Long been a strong suit.

-And now I'm done with summer. Got two weddings this Saturday (afternoon in E-Town and then evening in Louisville). Then it's head down until Friday at 9:00 am (lass' flight to Tulsa). Probably going to take that Friday off and get ish done around the house. Then its FLAGS UP down I-64 early Saturday... Man.

Tiger has gone from:
Back surgery->yips with wedges->shooting his worst rounds->putting together a couple good holes->putting together a nice round->3 great rounds and 1 bad round. Really 2 bad holes. Par on the 5th(basically a bogey) and that triple killed him.

He'll be back to winning next year, save injury. Obviously he's still not confident but if you watched the dude this weekend and think he's just going to fade into oblivion, you're wrong.
