You get past that first 2-3 days of the pox and it's actually a nice little vacation for a kid.

So Matt Bevin has hitched his wagon to the Rowan county clerk...guess he wasn't getting the gay vote anyway.

Not getting my vote either, I'm going with the Fark.com guy.

Conway will be the next governor, unfortunately.

Hit up the new arcade bar 16 Bit in OTR Friday night. Cool spot and really good-sized place. As long as you're drinking, the games are free and they have over 50 arcade games- Frogger, Mario Bros, Donkey Kong, Pac Man, Rampage, Punch Out, etc. Nice change of pace.

At least Conway is ALL IN on Gambol. :fire:

Why do ky republicans hate the gambol? I don't understand, especially for a state where Horse Racing (AKA GAMBOL) is part of our fabric.

-Crushed a place called BarCade in NYC that sounds similar for a few hours one day while the lassie napped. Looked cool/different, walked in, and got hammered and played tons of games I hadn't seen in decades. Pretty wodie.

If Churchill and Keeneland added tables I'd never see a horse race live again (except Derby/Oaks) and I'd be fine with that.

I mean, am I going to leave a craps or blackjack table to go bet a horse race?

No.

I don't care about it at the Horse tracks, rather it NOT be there, to be honest considering I can technically walk to Churchill (not a good situation).

But if it were, it would only bring in MORE people and MORE money, so I don't see the issue.

But to have a Casino downtown/near would be so awesome it's hard to put into words. Horseshoe marcus welby be 100 miles away, even though it's really not that far...just miserable to get to, haven't been in at least 5 years, maybe longer.

Politics man... tend to identify with a particular train of thought by a party. You find some things you like, ideas that sound good, and then they go and do something so dumb that it just short circuits everything. Picking the lesser of two (or more) evils, IMO.

I like gambol, love playing blackjack when I hit Vegas and what not, just don't see that as something I'd do on a regular basis around here.

I don't either, but the option would be nice. And when you consider how much money simply walks across the line to Indiana/Ohio...

Oh well, Kentucky is loaded anyways so it doesn't really matter.

Maybe when our generation are seniors something will get done. But, as of now, every voting bible thumping person in the state knows someone whose life was ruined by gambling. Whether they really know them is up for debate but they've heard the stories.

Learn Bible Belt. There are some counties where you still can't purchase alcohol. It makes no damn sense.

Louisville and Paducah could make a ton for of money for the entire state off of Nashville alone. Instead it all goes to Indiana and Illinois.

Not only that but they've voted this decade to continue not selling alcohol. Jamestown lost a vote to go wet just a couple years ago by 12 votes.

Bet if they knew Dr. Boat would have docked his boat there if it was wet they would have changed their mind though.

-In approximately 56 hours...wheels up to Lexington. Can't wait.

-Really like a lot of the new Nike gear, except the polos tend to not fit my body at all. But I still purchase and worship. Will be making an early Saturday morning run to Kennedy's/Fan Outfitters, hoping to stay under $200, but who knows.

-Going to be a whirlwind of a weekend:

*Land at SDF at midnight, drive to Lex and crash with buddy (no Jaimanth) in Chevy Chase.
*Up early for a jog through campus and around CWS, soak in the Kentucky sunshine and Gameday atmosphere.
*Quick trip to purchase obligate seasonal UK gear.
*Begin partaking in beverages.
*2:30 PM wedding at Christ the King (I know, ridiculous)
*Skip reception and walk back to buddy's house, tailgate.
*Long walk into campus, stop by a few tailgates, many collides
*Put on hard hat, help finish CWS
*Stomp that LL ***
*Multiple adult beverages downtown sans wife who will likely be tired, not feel well, and have a tummy ache

Sunday down to our cabin at Barren River Lake with the family and friends. Crush the lake as always, fire up the grill. Profit.

Fly back Monday to the land of the ********.

CAN. NOT. WAIT.

Good basketball player, too.

Horse Talk:
~Some chatter Churchill might try and script a race for Pharoah as a late prep for the BC, but realistically, they'll probably train him up to it.
~Glancing at Saratoga's card, RAP Racing's Louisville First is in today's 7th... :flush:

Heard rumors that people are already putting up their tailgating tents.
Can anyone here confirm or deny?

I believe holding your tailgating spot because you don't have will to get there early is an absolute crock.

If you're gonna stay/sleep/hang there all/most of the day/night, I'm cool with it. You deserve it.

Otherwise, yeah, that seems pretty weak if people are just setting up an empty tent and bouncing, imo.

Why were you shocked? Parking passes have been the biggest commodity for UK football forever.

Because it's a parking structure across from Nutter. Didn't seem like prime tailgating real estate.

I did sell the "shaded tailgating!" on ebay, though. [smoke]

Prediction: I will be completely sold on moving back to Lexington by Saturday at 6 PM and will be searching for jobs the rest of the weekend.

Pro tip: any form of UK football parking pass should be treated and priced as if it were

Heard rumors that people are already putting up their tailgating tents.

People have been doing that for years in the no parking pass required green space. It's usually students and recent grads. I thought there was a rule about when they could start saving space though and it seemed like it was on Thursday, but I could be mistaken.

I have only seen one UK tailgate trailer and pop up tent on the corner of Sports Center Drive and the entry to the Green Lot and its been there since Monday. It's the same trailer that is typically there every game.

Catholic Blacks schedule is perfecto for game day minus the wedding. I will soak my sorrows away with booze on a bachelor party trip canoeing down a river. ;) The only non sports fan in our crew getting hitched. Excellent scheduling dick face.

Roadie to Columbia on the horizon helps.
