Well you know how on a normal tv the viewing surface is flat? Imagine that part of the TV flat like it is, only curved some.

Anybody who thought the Bengals had a chance in hell on the road against a good team on SNF hasn't been paying attention for the entire duration of the Marvin Lewis Era. TMFS.
Bought a 70" Vizio for the Deck in Sept for football games. Couldn't be happier as I was looking for a 60" until the wife dropped a "60 isn't big enough for out there, go bigger"

Now convincing her to let me mount in the basement (non deck season) that takes up a entire wall is a different story...but I like my team.....which are her sisters who no matter what she tells me no on if they say do it she changes her tune in seconds.

Refresh rate of 60? Seems pretty slow. Wouldn't buy anything you plan on watching sports with less than 120 Hz.
Netflix and Amazon have some 4k content now, and some Bluray players and gaming systems can upconvert...
When I bought my 4K tv, hhgregg threw in a UHD pack with like 10 4k movies on it. So there is that option as well.
Saw the new Hunger Games this weekend. Meh. Really liked the first one, then it was all pretty much downhill. Jennifer Lawrence tho...

I'll be getting back from an unbelievable time at Thanksgiving in Madisonville around Midnight Friday night...wife has already declared she's "out", so that's a bonus. Have a room at the Hyatt, but I feel like I'm 50/50 at this point -- can't really explain why.
Hoping/guessing I'll be burned out on family time come Saturday morning and it will sound like a great time.

- Not as funny as Petrino's winja look, but up there- how hilarious is that there is a Tubby/Saul situation in the NBA???? Doc Rivers trading for Austin's bitchass cracks me up, and, of course, he plays him over Lance Stephenson.
- Glad to see Ohio State lose.
- Even happier to see North Carolina lose. They can't guard people. Just because you return everyone from a decent team doesn't mean they're going to be great. Same problems.
- Considering every other game he's played this year, pretty impressive how we bottled up Grayson Allen. Kid is putting it on everyone and we ate him up.
- Gotta love all the analysts losing their **** over our fourth best recruit. Gabriel is a STUD.
- Is Larranaga one of the 10 best coaches in CBB?
- Caught Adele on SNL this weekend. She's incredible. What a talent.
- I root for ND, but it does somewhat amuse me that they have a good chance of being left out of the playoff because of their lack of a conference. That's what you get, Irish. Too arrogant to be like everyone else, well enjoy playing for #5 in the final poll.

4k is a great "capturing" resolution (because it can be cropped to 1080p after the fact), but they don't have the processing power to maintain 4k through the pipeline for vfx, or "render out" to 4k - and won't for a while.
4k masters (4k scans of film) of old movies have negligibly better color representation, imo, ymmv. ***EDIT: I find this to be a dumb reason to buy into 4k.*** But Blu-Ray can only output them at 1080p anyway.
I think it is another dose of snake oil until sports are broadcast in 4K - and that is a long way off as well.

I have had the same TV for nearly a decade. Its the heaviest flat screen in the entire world. I've looked at new TV's a time or two, but never pulled the trigger. Eventually this one has to die or be dropped on concrete or something

Curved TV's are a totally stupid gimmick if you intend for more than one person to watch off-center.
Theater screens are curved to capture the light from the projector at the same distance and leave an un-distorted image.
Curved computer monitors make sense, but they are for one person and are very close to their face.
I've got a lot of hi-tech BSing pent up inside for a guy who spends most of his day specifying urinal partitions.
