I agree. And really who doesn't fit in the following keen observation: "If you fire Miles to hire __________ you're a massive assclown and should be fired immediately."

I guess if you have a commitment from Nick Saban, Bill Belichik, and a free and clear no show cause Pete Carroll then sure.

Not saying that Les Miles is the greatest coach in football, but not sure who you go after to replace him after you buy him out. Just weird.

Biggest career mistake all of us have made is not just trying to become a college football coach. The vast majority of these guys are complete halfwits if you really get down to it.

I mean, Mark Stoops, esq.? Dr. Shannon Dawson?

Everyone joked before the season that SOME coach in the SEC west would have to finish last & might get fired despite guarantee contract making $4M+. Didn't think it would be Les.

And 2 1/2 weeks ago he was undefeated & #2 in the CFB playoff poll. brutal conference man.

I remember in law school learning about all of the different state and federal jurisdictions there are in this country. The basic rule was "every jurisdiction is pretty similar, even if they all do things a little differently. Except Louisiana. Things get weird in Louisiana, legally speaking." So I guess I get it.

I agree. We joke all the time about coaches screwing up clock management and making calls that 12 years olds playing Madden on Xbox live don't even get wrong.

They might be halfwits, but I have zero desire to live the life they have to:

-16 to 18 hour workdays in season
-Driving all across the country recruiting during the offseason
-Almost non-existent job security
-Working ****** GA/position coach jobs (with the same awful hours) in po'dunk locales before you ever make any real money.
-Neglecting your family
-Never seeing your friends

I'll take my moderate earnings potential and be pretty happy I'm not a major sport coach at a big time university. If the halfwits love the game of football that much, or have zero desire for a work/life balance, then pay them their money.

Think Steve Spurrier has proven that the whole "18-hour workday" business is horseshit. The GD President of the United States doesn't have to work that much, but I'm supposed to believe that Billy Joe Pigskin needs to? Not likely.

Steve Spurrier is a great example of how if you are smart, charismatic, and give zero effs...you can essentially do whatever you want to and be successful. Most of the coaching fraternity is not so blessed...

One thing I learned Saturday from my free food seats is that before a 3rd down for our offense, some dude walks along the sideline holding up a janky-*** sign that says "PUNT." That guy GETS IT.

Dawson makes $550,000 per year in base salary through June 2018. So, when you get your paycheck later this week/Monday, just remember that dickhole's gross pay for the last two weeks is $22,917.

Oh, there's also scuttlebutt that some school is going to come along and offer him 2-3x that amount. Guaranteed. For multiple years.

Kinda feel like Dawson should be doing that up in the box and not on the sideline where everyone can see but what do I know
