Do those projections account for how much of a ***** Skal is or nah?
KenPom isn't the best indicator until at least January. One outlier either way can really skew a ranking. Of course, we've had an outlier each way, so it probably evens out for us. Also, I lost some respect for his numbers last season when someone showed how much he was cooking the books to keep Virginia's defense ahead of or neck and neck with our own.
Plus efficiency guy has become annoying as hell. I think efficiency stats are a great tool and no one should pick their bracket or buy at a Calcutta without looking over them, but the pendulum has swung way too far in their favor at this point. Like FatGuy gushing over our offensive numbers at UCLA. Our offense may not have been as dreadful as it seemed to the passionate fan, but our numbers were really inflated by a bunch of meaningless 3's we made in the last few minutes. It doesn't account for that on the KenPom page though.

I can listen to Koenig mostly on planes and not hear a word she is saying. I love it as background noise it calms me. I have to go back and re-listen if I am not completely dialed in. Very strange and thought everyone should know!

Joking about K's immortality/pact with the devil aside, you know who really might be a g-damn vampire? Alyssa Milano. She doesn't age. It's uncanny. Also, I don't think she's ever been seen during daytime.
Guess I was a bit salty at the first Serial, having listened to all of it expecting an ending...had no clue the thing was unresolved. Honestly they could have condensed the whole thing into one or two hours.
Curious about this new one as I have followed the case pretty well and know it's ongoing. Will be shocked if she turns up anything that makes me think he's not a little deserting piece of crap. Basically he will hang his defense on the fact that he intended to return to his unit. Under the UCMJ, that will make him AWOL instead of a deserter.

(b) Any commissioned officer of the armed forces who, after tender of his resignation and before notice of its acceptance, quits his post or proper duties without leave and with intent to remain away therefrom permanently is guilty of desertion.
(c) Any person found guilty of desertion or attempt to desert shall be punished, if the offense is committed in time of war, by death or such other punishment as a court-martial may direct, but if the desertion or attempt to desert occurs at any other time, by such punishment, other than death, as a court-martial may direct.

I always had the impression Hurley wasn't one of Coach K's boys. He would probably crush it there, but K will almost certainly be allowed to pick his successor, and I think he'll pick someone who is more of a sycophant than Hurley. I know some people might bristle at the thought, but if he really rises up, I'd take him here. Unlike every football coaching candidate ever, Hurley actually does have a real passion for horse racing so it is plausible. Of course, he kinda sucked at it and lost his ***, so this might be the worst possible job in the world for him.
