So how are the newfangled Nests different/better than my old *** Honeywell thermostat that I set a timer on to turn off when I leave, turn on when I get home, adjust for sleep/wake up atkot?

In advance, I'd like a simpleton response from Chase and a sure to be much fancier response from Joey Rupption.
Not Joey or Chase but from what ive read the position of the moon has a lot to do with the Nest's efficiency.

They allegedly learn how you like your temp at all different times over the first several weeks. After that you don't have to touch them much at all, allegedly. My previous thermostat had a **** system for programming. It just didn't work as efficiently or easily as I wanted it to. If I already had good thermostats, I probably wouldn't have gotten them. Huge upgrade for me though.

Also, lazy me no want to get out bed to change hot cold.

im convinced that if you're famous, you're required to dress like an asshat. brett favre is probably the last celebrity to live by the blue jeans and tshirt/polo standard.

speaking of which: levi strauss still makes a damn fine blue jean, even after all these years. 33/32. 527.

How has Adam not signed a contract for one of 80's shipping container homes yet? (which I'm actually curious to see)

Here's a novel concept, why don't we just get the touch up and walk over to the damn thermometer and hit a button to match our desired temperature?

****, people. None of this stupid crap is groundbreaking or necessary.

Are they as unnecessary as your lady slippers? The ones that were actually more expensive than the Nest.

^^^Fowler is 27, ranked 6th, a millionaire playboy....he can wear whatever he wants and you will like it. Rest assured, if your boy comes back wearing garanimals, you will be ordering them for your next round.

HEY, JOEY... FOUND AN APP THAT WILL TURN ON MY TV IN MY LIVING ROOM FROM ANYWHERE. THAT WAY WHEN BY THE TIME I GET HOME FROM WORK & WALK INTO MY HOME THE TV IS ALREADY ON.

CUTTING EDGE.
Cutting edge from when? Are you in a time machine?

That is a solved problem that we've all been accomplish for years with IRIS, Withings, WeMo, "the internet of things," etc.

Having said that, it is a somewhat worthless problem to solve since SlingBox has allowed us to watch TV on our person for a number of years at this point.

It's called "Nest" because they are trying to be the supplier of the "internet of things" in our homes - not just thermostats.

I, for one, can't wait until my fridge keeps me supplied with eggs without any thinking about it on my end. I hate keeping track of eggs. We always have way to many or not enough. Once our refrigerators can detect our egg supply deficiency and automatically order more eggs for us from Amazon Farm ®, and all we have to do is take the egg shipment from porch to fridge, we will be really set to take the next great leap forward as a society, jmo.

How is NEST better than the programmable thermostat that the good folks at Anthony, Anthony and Dante, Inc. installed for me with me new unit?

I never have to touch the damn thing.

I just got an email from an attorney named Barclay Banister, a professed GYERO lurker, asking for my favorite NYC pizza places.

I thought this to be a prank with a certainty level of :100points:, but upon further research, it does not seem to be. [laughing]

Anyways, nice fella. If you're ever down in WKY and in trouble, look him up. (I'm sure Showkiller will be "too busy" anyways) Gave him plenty of FAT pointers for his trip, so he should be in my debt & willing to help.

Same here.

When you say Nest saves money, how much are we really talking here?
