Didn't we have some super recruit once that ended up diagnosed with a rare disease and had to give up football before he ever played a down here?

My dad brought me a jar of Frisch's tartar sauce...I've been using it to dip my Hardee's pickled jalapeno poppers in.

does someone truly need to explain to you why oysters are expensive in kentucky??

jesus, man.

I know exactly why, as it's been explained to me by many-a-shucker. Nobody sells enough volume to purchase enough quantity to cut costs -- not b/c of the logistics. UPS/Bluefin allow Louisville to receive seafood at a cost/timing better than most any non-coastal town.

Varanese hopes to change that, by focusing on it. Nobody else does, or has, around here. Nobody even sells them by the dozen... pretty much $3-6 an oyster, which is a joke. So yeah, that's the main reason.

In most cases, seafood stops here before it heads to Chicago, Vegas, NYC, etc, but I'm sure you knew that.

I've accepted Garage Bar, but I hate that now anytime I see an abandoned service station it has made me wonder if it too could become a fun gathering place with great pizza, awesome ham, and one of the better bars in town.

Wodie or any other Louisville folks taken in Butchertown Grocery yet? Seems to be catching a ton of buzz.

#1 on my list currently. Sounds like you're going to hate it though.

Little speakeasy/cocktail bar upstairs as well, apparently pretty much like 'Meat' was back when downstairs was Blind Pig. I doubt they use machines for them.

...along the same lines, anyone been to Galaxie Bar?

I'm really looking forward to when Richie or SAE learn about the Reformed hipster churches that are starting to becoming popular.

These "hipsters" aren't some rare breed. They're the same mainstream d-bags who were club kids back in the 00s. It's just NOW this is the style. They'll be losing the beards and skinnies and jumping on the next trend soon enough. Guarantee our boy Oliver is a bearded hipster now. GUARANTEED.

- Touch American Airlines. I'll be sleeping tonight in Honolulu, LA, or Vegas. Won't know for hours! And who the hell knows where my bags will be.

- Nothing as frustrating as a short layover in Las Vegas. Knowing I'm just a few hundred yards from that magical. Also on a flight with a group of college girls going to Vegas, man...

- First class is nice. Could get used to this.

- CFA for breakfast. Blessed.

No pickle on the sambo.

- Dowloaded Fargo for the flights. Kinda excited.

- Non processed food. Real hard, Clark. Get your ish together man.

Is it to much to ask for a joint that gives me chicken fingers, a 28 ounce Bud Lite, ESPN on TV and some ******* ferns and tchotchkes all over the place?!?!?

Really think Chad is downplaying the hipster's smug revulsion of conventional American ethos.

This group is special.

I shuck them myself, the danger involved makes each bite more rewarding. Maybe bought them 2-3 times in my life...it's a lonely endeavor in the Baldwin house. Although she loves the charbroiled...never tried to make them myself.

That's a tough job, man. Those dudes behind the bar in NOLA, Destin, etc are badasses.

-Bet that Fazoli's is BONKERS. People driving from counties over like they did when Applebee's opened back in the day?

Convinced Louisville is far worse than most cities within reach. Think that is the real problem with perception for most.

Spend a weekend in Louisville and you will be filled with rage, especially the ever evolving Germantown area.

Got a feeling if possible Check's would send some soldiers out to lean on a few of these pricks if it were the 70's.

"Filled with rage" over what, exactly? Lol, Louisville is no different than any other city of it's size or larger in that regard.

You people are weird, feel bad for most of you that have such a difficult time enjoying a night out. smh

...and who in TF would spend a weekend in Germantown? [laughing]

What is wrong with some of you, seriously?

Had been open for a week and a half and I heard it was still an hour long wait. Justifiably so, if you ask me, the heart of wky has gone way too long without industrial farmer, to grain bin, to chemical plant, to truck freezer, to fast food freezer, to microwave, to table Italian cuisine.

Of all the places I have to regularly travel for work, Madisonville unequivocally has the best restaurants.

Granted, I usually have to travel to some pretty ****** places.

Grippos topped mac cheese was a hit, by the way.

Is it weird to have a friend ask if one of their friends can stay at your house, when they aren't gonna be there? I like having guests, but I'm not running a bread and breakfast, seems kind of creepy to put up a stranger without the friend there.

Shew. I struggled to finish that Cal video. Got that uncomfortable feeling I used to get when watching Michael Scott be a doofus on the Office. Funny, but almost unbearably awkward.

I blame the local Madisonville hipster culture, the 12 or so of them just hanging around the community college with their coffee, beards, skinny jeans and such....reading and writing. Pisses me off, before you know it we'll have a gourmet burger joint with craft beers right where Ferrells is and that will be the beginning of the end.

Richie needs to come save us before it's too late, all our abandoned garages are still meth labs so there is time.

Really shouldn't have to speculate if "bread and breakfast" was an honest mental lapse or that's what you actually think they're called, yet, here we are, Doctor.
