^I will agree with that. No telling what he's invested into that place. Total renovation, sizable advertising campaign, expensive real estate.

UT, Ark, UF. I don't think USC is a certain loss. Vandy and KU are absolute loses. KU will probably wax. Hoping that is the low point and sends us on a tear.

Caught the 2nd half of Chaminade (Tatum) & Dematha (Fultz) over lunch at the gym. Buzzer beater in regulation, Dematha winning in OT.

Tatum went for an easy 40...and Fultz is just a stud, as perfect of a Cal guard as you'll see. Seems like Romar gets a top Guard at least every other year...

-Who cares about sides at a Mexican place, really? Order some queso or whatever to start and then get a bigger burrito or an extry taco if you want to truly #profit.

@anthonys735 What's the deal with the Senninger Plumbing vans in the morning on Athens-Boonesboro? Those guys are going to get somebody killed pulling out in front of people and blasting through traffic lights.

I don't work for Senninger so I have no idea but their Lex branch is out here off Blue Sky by me. I don't notice it b/c I'm usually dodging UPS or concrete trucks.

*Sorry, wasn't trying to be a dick.

Grief. If you can't get queso right - you have no business being in business.

Booked Azur for V-Day weekend. We're going the night before so guess I should find out if they're doing that prix-fixe nonsense. Not a huge fan but it's an excuse to use a gift card, I guess. Would love to make a night of Louisville and hit up Seviche again. Worshipped.

Why doesn't Kroger(s) carry Land-I-Lakes extry melt white American cheese? Isn't that what all the Mexican junts use to make queso?

Exactly. Use a very common white melt cheese, throw in a few pickled jalapenos, and you have phenomenal queso. Screwing that up takes some effort.

Those really popular Mexican joints have to just print money. Low food cost, quick table turnover, low labor cost, cheap rent in most cases.

Considering El Nopal is up to about 50 locations around here, I'd say so.

Those guys are ruthless, too. They've basically set up shop directly across from every Tarasco, Aztecas, etc, etc, in town as they've expanded over the years. They come in, paint their building orange, and as soon as they open their competitors' parking lots are empty, TS.

The food isn't any better for certain, but the atmosphere is. Their name certainly carries weight w/ the masses here though, it's incredible.

Sneakiest expensive place in town, btw. Meal for 2 & 2 margs apiece is going to run you $60+

Don't like Azur? One of the more consistent meals in Lex. Pork chop has always been good.

No, it's alright. Don't love it but I've never had a bad meal/experience there. Glad it's doing well. Lovely's are good ppl, from all my interactions with them.

Cool. How many Margaritas do Sam, Ben, and Josh usually drink?

Apparently YOU need to learn how to order. Unless you're getting a wackass 2 Hard Taco meal like a simpleton, then that's not possible.

You may be a coupon warrior, but any entrée worth ordering is $11-16. Add 4-5 margaritas onto that & a 20% tip, it's simple math.

Do NOT like Dudley's. Overrated as it gets, IMO. Think the move messed them up, I dunno. Ever since they relocated to Short St it's been consistently meh/underwhelming.

Like Sabio, tho. Scallops :100points:

Davis, Cousins and Wall among the final 30 for the Olympic team.

Davis is a lock. Cousins should make it but will get cut because of perception. Wall has no chance.

:joy:

mexican food is cheap, but they probably mark up their drinks more than any other style junt on the planet. the going rate for a dirt cheap house marg is, what, 7 bucks?

and no matter. for me, it's a must. bare minimum of 2. usually 3 or 4. that has to be where they make the most $$$.

pretty sure el nopal operates as a chick fil a/texas roadhouse style franchise. they are run by owner/operator/gm types who make like $35k + a small sliver of the profits. pretty good deal for both parties.

Cousins was on some International team and by all accounts was a great teammate. No reason he won't make the Olympic squad.

Wall won't make any team, b/c he sucks. Glad he keeps trying though, he's only about 0-11 in his attempt to make these teams.

El Nopal has two days a week $1 beers and two days a week $1.99 margs.

All you had to do was add a little Larry Bird shade to this post somehow and it would have literally murdered '73.

^ Carmelo Anthony is already 48 points from passing Bird on the scoring list, pretty much all you need to know.

-I think Dudley's was a solid option. As good as anything else in town if you stick with the basics. We just always went b/c of location and the Beans. Just like I said, all those places are farmed from the same tree. That's why we have a so many little clones around the city, every one of those chefs worked at Dudley's at one point.

-Haven't done straight up Mexican in a bit. Love it, but what a gut buster feel miserable about yourself afterwards. For some reason I also feel like you have to eat there on a Sunday-Thursday. That makes no sense.

^ Yep. We hit Mexican on either a self-loathing Monday or a Thursday when we get an itch to catch a buzz and get out for a bit, 98% of the time.

The margaritas (and to a lesser extent, chips) are what makes you feel the worst -----> those things are probably 800-1K calories apiece. Usually full before my meal even arrives. :weary:

-Still can't believe Anth doesn't have this setup: Upset of the century imo.

-Stinks we have to wait until Thursday to redeem that loss. Kind of glad it's on the road though. Basically a must win. A loss there and Saturday would be danger-danger.

-Still think the team gets it together for a little fun, they've got 2 very impressive wins but man when they don't show up they don't show up. Unique ability to turn it off mid game. Don't think we've seen the bottom though.

-Wonder if he rolls with Willis? I think you almost have to at this point. At least once they get comfortable you can spread the floor with that lineup. Gives you three guys you have to watch from outside.

-Bonzocat in the fold this weekend? That's the rumor.

-Sure no one cares but signed up for zwift yesterday. Essentially an online cycling gaming world. So you train, race, ride all virtually. Nuts how in depth it is. You can watch other people do this, which for some reason is mesmerizing. Was watching some pro riders last night. Looks like a fun way to spice up my boring trainer rides.

-Pressure cooker buffalo chicken last night. Nailed it. That pressure cooker is an intimidating *****.

Been on Zwift for 2 months it is really good have done more trainer miles this winter than prior 3 combined. A man of your stature & means should go ahead and get the Wahoo Kicker for the full experience.
