People trying to spin what Beyonce's performance was not about is funny. As were her back up dancers who probably don't even realize what they were being used for.

This thread is evidence that this country is insanely divided over inane things.
I did not think twice about Coldplay's colorful stage show and it's purported broader appeal. Nor did I think twice about Beyonce's outfit.
As Rodney King said- Can't we all just get along?
That's funny. I went to take a piss came back to watch the halftime show and yelled out loud does anyone know what the hell is going on because I sure as hell don't. No one at the party knew what the hell was going on. It was a mishmash of random things culminating in an incoherent mess right there on my TV screen. I had to come here to learn it was an homage to the gays and black panther party. How people tried to associate those too agendas in this show[eyeroll]. Show's just how F'ed up this halftime show was it was an incoherent mess.

This thread has been a real laugher. Lurking this thread really opened my eyes at how petty some of you can be.

The last few minutes of retrospect of Super Bowl pasts should have been what the entire Super Bowl 50 Show should have been about. I think you blend in some of the songs from the different eras. They could be sung by well known artists or by talented entertainers or both. You choreograph in moments like Springsteen's slide or Michael Jackson's 90 second statue opening stand or the "smoke breathing" Green Bay Packer floats int he first Super Bowl or two while the music is played. Perhaps you get some of the previous artists to make cameos. You basically plan a 20 or 30 minute medley composed entirely of stuff from within the first 49 Super Bowls.

That would have been fun. But at least they got in some of that on tape at the end.

By the way, the Grambling State Marching Band holds the record for most appearances at the Super Bowl followed by Up With People! (Look it up.) One Up With People singer turned out to be actress Glenn Close.
