No true. They shook hands last yr in carver
Oh really? Well here’s the video evidence that only Kueter did. 1:42:30ish
The ISU wrestlers even throw up their hands in confusion.
No true. They shook hands last yr in carver
You always just make **** up??No true. They shook hands last yr in carver
I would rather they are put into a situation where they have the opportunity to act maturely and grow. Should they succumb to immaturity, there should be consequences to help them learn/mature.Would you rather have someone start mouthing off (does not matter from which team - but more than likely the winning team) and then a brawl takes place? They shook hands at the end of each match. Occasionally basketball teams do it as well. Just not a big deal and as was mentioned before, pretty good chances are the administrations said don't do it. Though Dresser did act like a douche with his arms spread wondering where everyone else was at actions.
That did make me wonder what he was doing. They have not met for handshakes since that incident and why he thought it would be different just because they won makes me wonder what his thinking is. It was alright not to shake hands the previous 2 or 3 years for him. And again, if Im remembering this was a big deal nationallly and the athletic dept had alot to say in this from both universities. Maybe Im wrong about that but definitely been the protocol for last at least 2 years before this year.If you watch Dresser walk over to the hawk bench it sure makes your statement sound fictitious, dresser is walking around with his arms out to the side like where did they all go, they don't want to shake hands?
The sportsmanship has been dwindling. I remember Gilman used to go into their huddle to get a hand shake. Gilman loved himself some hand shakes.
Suspect charged in UI shower videotaping incidentCrazy that every other program has safe showers except PSU.
I must have missed what an incident that happened at a resident hall has to do with the wrestling program? Keep grasping, but there isn't a thing you can do to cover up the issues at PSU - unless your athletic department and administration gets involved then you have the best cleaners in the business. And yes, I made the assumption you are a PSU fan.
Men's basketball team dumbassYes, because the chumps running the men’s wrestling team allow that to happen.
Letting kids get raped in the university showers and wrestlers getting finger blasted by other wrestlers would seem like a less healthy environment to me.If one truly believes wrestlers are not to be defined by a win or a loss, as I seem to remember Brands saying during an interview, then a Brands' team should never have a problem shaking hands.
Clearly Tom did and Telford did (I don't know about all the other coaches), but few others did.
I think it is the kind of look that top recruits and their parents might not desire. Seems a less healthy environment.
It amazes me the level of BS we decide to criticize when we lose. I personally have no idea whether they shook hands, didn't shake hands, or have some protocol in place to never shake hands. And frankly those nit noid things are not important to me when it comes to our program. What is important is not getting our asses kicked by tOSU and ISU, and us being the ones who are kicking their asses come March. I'm as frustrated as the next person with the results thus far but it's March that matters. And I promise you that if we do the right things and show up like we should come March none of you will give two ***** regarding shaking hands after the Cy-Hawk dual. The coaches shook hands - not the worst idea to keep the wrestlers separated no need for another limp wristed hand shake.
What does Sandusky have to do with the wrestling program? A generation later?I must have missed what an incident that happened at a resident hall has to do with the wrestling program? Gilman is a weirdo, who is lucky some upper weight didn't kick his @SS for the **** he used to do.The sportsmanship has been dwindling. I remember Gilman used to go into their huddle to get a hand shake. Gilman loved himself some hand shakes.
You might want to investigate the issue between Starocci and others that occurred last year. But you not knowing about it kind of proves the point now doesn't it?What does Sandusky have to do with the wrestling program? A generation later?
Not at all. I followed it rather closely and if you're familiar with false allegations and how often they happen in these kind of situations you realize the majority of these complain complaints are complete BS at the start. You might want to investigate the issue between Starocci and others that occurred last year. I think it was Dresser shaking hands to nothing after the meet Saturday trying to make it nothing something. Funny thing, unless I missed it, he didn't care about the non-handshake in last few years where his team lost. Usually I think Dresser is a decent coach and rep but this seemed a bit pukey and fake.Iowa and isu haven't done a post meet handshake since things got heated a few years back in Ames.
It's not a big deal and pretty silly some here want to make it something it is not.
I really have no dog in the fight, but an orchestrated conspiracy to go after Starocci seems a lot less believable than that he’s a weird guy who did some bad stuffNot at all. This is from a guy who investigated Penn state and knew that certain individuals helped to cover it up. He'd personally told me 70 to 80% of initial complaints through the police are complete ********.
This was an orchestrated online plan to go after Starocci. The Penn State police did investigate any alleged theft and they couldn't prove who it was. As for the sexual assault allegations, anonymous sources in a college newspaper article that wasn't really picked up nationwide is a classic example of a smear job.
So again, what's your point?
I didn't realize Beau Bartlett was an anonymous source? As far as the theft allegations, I could not care less about that and it wasn't part of my comment. Not at all. Are you still a prison guard?Letting kids get raped in the university showers and wrestlers getting finger blasted by other wrestlers would seem like a less healthy environment to me.![]()
Even after Tom Brands and Bobby Telford chose to cross the mat to shake hands? He could reasonably have been surprised it ended there.Usually I think Dresser is a decent coach and rep but this seemed a bit pukey and fake.
Didn't the coaches always shake hands or at least some of them? I thought it was the wrestlers that stopped.Even after Tom Brands and Bobby Telford chose to cross the mat to shake hands? He could reasonably have been surprised it ended there.
Dresser has turned pukey and fake over the years. He used to be an alright guy to talk to, but I can't even stand to be anywhere close to the guy now. It was 100% different with him with the non-handshake, being they won the dual, but that's not odd for him. Go back and listen to him in interviews where he goes out of his way to take shots at the Hawks because of NIL and transfers but you don't hear him make those comments now they have finally realized transfers is part of the game. I've heard guys say he's nothing but a "used car salesman" and I would say that fits him, and it's not at a reputable car dealership, it's the sketchy one, on an off street with a bunch of "lemons" that he is selling as it was only driven to church by an 80 year old lady.I think it was Dresser shaking hands to nothing after the meet Saturday trying to make it nothing something. The police couldn't prove who did the theft between Startocci or Kasak.I didn't realize Beau Bartlett was an anonymous source? As far as the theft allegations, I could not care less about that and it wasn't part of my comment.
IDK. I didn't think Terry did ever since the bruhahha, and I didn't see him do so after CyHawk (but maybe he did).Didn't the coaches always shake hands or at least some of them? I thought it was the wrestlers that stopped.
I didn't realize you were at the dual the TV doesn't show everythingIDK. I didn't think Terry did ever since the bruhahha, and I didn't see him do so after CyHawk (but maybe he did).
Thanks captain obvious. Those Iowa fans that braved the snow left early to beat the traffic. So it really didn't matter they were there.I didn't realize you were at the dual the TV doesn't show everything
Yep. Terry is a different animal. I don't keep track but wonder if he ever shakes hands with ISU or Okie St.IDK. I didn't think Terry did ever since the bruhahha, and I didn't see him do so after CyHawk (but maybe he did).

Considering he tried to base his rebuttal to me on something that was not even part of the initial point you might want to put your money on a different horse. And maybe you can answer my question to him - Beau Bartlett is now an anonymous source? Do your research or go back to your own Board.Dont seek rational thought or reason with this group lol
The big 10 probably wasn't even aware of it is my guess. One article was written about it. I doubt the big 10 follows wrestling twitter. Not sure thats the best exampleThe evidence against him was so overwhelming that the Big 10 named him athlete of the year months after the allegations.
You don’t think the Big 10 does some basic vetting of athletes they are awarding athletes of the year? Seems like if they overlooked any credible allegations before honoring an athlete it would be pretty embarrassing for them. The big 10 probably wasn't even aware of it is my guess. No I don't think they do. I thought Carter would file a suit and I heard he might. But I haven't heard anything about it since. You don’t think the Big 10 does some basic vetting of athletes they are awarding athletes of the year? Uh yeah, in the past meets the workout facility and locker rooms were not heated...ice cold. So, Iowa rented a ballroom at the hotel and brought their own mats. Of course the locker room was not heated at the stadium that they had to use. I wouldn't shake those pricks hands either if I was on the team, not when Iowa always treats visitors well. That's not gamesmanship, it's being a prick, which is what Dressler is and always has been.I think it was Dresser shaking hands to nothing after the meet Saturday trying to make it nothing something. But, congrats to ISU, they wrestled well and several of our guys did not. They won, we lost. Happens. First time in 20 years, but hey, anybody can have two bad decades.
See em in March, when it matters.
