Blazing Saddles is an all time great movie, but I don’t know if it could be made today.
IIRC there is an interview with Mel and he pretty much says it would never get made today.
Edit: Not to mention that there isn't anyone today that could do Gene Wilder and Cleavon Little justice.

First line of the movie: “Dock that ch*nk a days pay for napping on the job!” No way that movie gets done today

I agree the movie couldn’t be made today. I agree that Gene Wilder and Cleavon Little were great. I disagree that other actors wouldn’t be great. For example I think Kevin Hart or Chris Rock would be great Sheriffs. Sebastian Maniscalpo or Pete Davidson would be great in the Gene Wilder role.

I can give you Kevin Hart or even Dave Chappelle but no one comes close to the genius of Wilder. JMO.
