I think the 5%, who are actually offended, have become so vocal about it over the years. Sort of like squeaky wheels.

Ran out to Rite Aid to get some Vodka a few minutes ago and almost died. The war on Christmas is raging in the streets. Dead Christians everywhere. If I go out again I'm wearing a Yarmulke to disguise myself. Nobody is safe.
Yeah - it is sad that such a small segment of the population gets so much attention - to your point, the "squeaky wheel" theory. It doesn't help that social media has become so large. And you have "influencers" on both sides who stoke the fire. Some whack job on Twitter makes a dumb comment, and some bigger whack job on the other side retweets it and accuses every other democrat or republican of believing or supporting what the original whack job said.
I still stand behind my belief that 80% of us are sane, normal, logical people. Sadly, the 20% get all the attention.
I’m not on social media so I have no clue what the hell you guys are talking about, and in general feel that way about lots of issues (and am happy about it). I can say, however, that IN ACTUAL REAL LIFE I both said and heard Merry Christmas at least 500 times in the last month, even hearing it in Spanish in song form without a single objection. So merry Xmas everyone!
