For many of us on this board, today recalls the last time we strapped on the pads and took the field. For me, it was 59 years ago but the memory lives on.

51 years ago Riverside HS vs Old Forge HS. We got shut out 20-0 and ended a miserable 4-6-1 season.

Remember how the grass smelled some days? Sometimes it was a joy to be on the bottom of the pile.
We had the luxury of practicing across the highway from an old Durkee's plant which is now a Lowe's. Man, the days they would make Cinnamon....... Didn't want to leave the practice field those days.
For me also, 1966 Thanksgiving Day, Wyoming Valley West - (Plymouth Area) vs the Nanticoke Trojans, if memory serves right .....I believe we won.
Rahway H.S. for me against Jonathan Dayton Regional (Springfield, NJ) and we won as well. A happy day for both of us!! I also have good memories of the party that night but that's another story
