Can't say I'm shocked by this....

https://www.chicagotribune.com/subu...-spt-pat-disabato-column-st-051219-story.html

"One relationship Blackmon has closed the book on, however, is with St. Laurence football advisor Frank Lenti, the former Mount Carmel coach.

If you recall, Lenti was hired by St. Laurence in 2018 after he was unceremoniously fired by Mount Carmel following a remarkable 33-year career and 11 state championships.

There was considerable speculation at the time that Lenti was hired to eventually replace Blackmon.

That didn’t happen. St. Laurence replaced Blackmon with Adam Nissen, who coincidentally was on Lenti’s staff at Mount Carmel.

“I defended Frank to my parents, to the media, and I befriended him when I brought him in,” Blackmon said. “In the end, none of that mattered to him. In the month before I was let go, I texted him twice and he never responded. Then the day I was let go, he calls me and tries to compare my situation to when he was fired.

“It’s always about Frank. He was a giant to me when I brought him on and now he’s the smallest person in the world to me.”

So what does Lenti think? He didn’t respond to a voice message or text.

What matters now is that hiring Blackmon is a good thing for Oak Lawn, and life moves on like that sometimes."

Harold is a great guy.I’m glad he got another job.If they’d build that damn bridge over the rail yard & have Central open all the way thru that would help enrollment at Saint Laurence

Why is Disabato airing dirty laundry? This piece appears more suitable for the tittle-tattle found in Michael Sneed's gossip column in the Sun Times.

The Sun Times, of course, is Chicago's worst newspaper.........the worst.

Disabato has always been a trash writer. He aired all MC's dirty laundry when Frank quit from MC.

Right? So, the school parted ways with him, he landed on his feet, got a new job. What's the point of this story? He "severs ties?" A month later? Dude, you were escorted out of the building. Ties are already severed.

Media is media. Stir the pot, sell papers. I guarantee you this article circulated more then anyone he’s written this year. Mission accomplished in his eyes. I respect Disabato most of the time, he really takes the time to cover High School Sports in detail. I also like Frank Lenti, he’s never done myself or my boys wrong. But I will admit this, and Blackmon learned it really fast, Frank believes he can do no wrong. Frank believed he was bigger then MC. And after 3 decades of MC living in Franks world, they said enough is enough.

In the dozens of involuntary coaching changes I have seen over the decades, those in football produce the most sour of grapes. Usually a lot of anger is generated inside the offended party and certain close targets often take a hit publicly. This is the way it has always been - and always will. These divorces are rarely amicable.

I couldn’t agree with you more. I will add that coaches and especially football coaches have huge egos and when they don’t get what they feel is right they become disgruntled and it usually does not end well. Like the other poster said it’s not usually a good divorce.

Very few coaches even in high school get the last farewell tour and go out on their terms with gifts

Hard to call that sales flyer a newspaper anymore, plus with the other one having full-blown TDS it's like calling Moscow during Pravda and Izvestia a two-paper town.
