Haha, that's hilarious; weren't the Tar Heel posters making a big deal about his visit date being changed? Glad he remembered them in this interview haha
Gary 7's guys has all the inside info. The only reason he is not officially visiting UNC is because in a twist this time. He is renting a helicopter to fly in the day after his Duke official visit to formerly commit to HOF coach Roy cause that's where his heart is. But before that he is going down to Georgia and scoop up Wendall Carter cause he is a Roy guy, which I have yet to figure out what that even means. In a first, Carter is going forego his Junior season in high school to come in early to be Kennedy Meeks understudy this year.
That Gary 7 guy is a complete dope. Seems like a miserable, pissy little A hole that runs his fat mouth all the time and is never right. And for some reason most of the other boneheads over there actually treat him like he is somebody to respect. Are you kidding me?!! If Harry follows his heart it'll be UNC- just remember UNC isn't a OAD factory, so even though they recruit OAD players it's different because heels are family.
K is a snake oil salesman. He's telling Giles that he can be a OAD, potentially part of one of the greatest recruiting hauls ever, and win a national title. Olympics coach!!!!!!!!!!!!UNFAIR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Did I miss any UNC excuses?

Oh yeah, the old Duke doesn't get caught ploy. The only reason Giles is considering Duke is because; its a known fact that he will get the benefit of all the calls by the refs. But his heart is with Wake and UNC. He patterns his game after Danny Manning for some odd reason.
The patterns his game after Danny Manning line was one of the sneakiest lines that were overlooked- great pick up there. Harry Giles was born in 1999 right? somewhere around there- Danny Manning hadn't played a game since '02-03 and only played 10 games that year. And i'm pretty sure a kid that has his social media handles with "big ticket" in them, might look up to you know a guy in the nba currently who is named the big ticket....call me crazy.
I can see Giles pattering his game like Manning. Word out is BIG LUKE MAYE patterns his game like Larry Bird.
OFCIt is hard to read that interview and not come to the conclusion that he has completely disregarded UNC. He is even smarter than I thought!
The UNCheats are God's chosen team. They are the best coached team in America by a coach that understands how to get the best results from his team and keep most players there for 4 years. Roy has more coaching ability in his little finger than any other coach except Dean Smith. Without injuries the Holes would have won several additional national titles. The A Holes have the best front court and best back court of any college team in the land. They have 5 point guards that would start for any college team. Their back up players would start for most teams. The players are all excellent students and fine young men who chose Cheat U because they wanted to attend the best university in the USA. The recruits that didn't choose the Holes were not wanted there anyway because they wouldn't be true Tar Holes.
If we could be any of the above maybe K could turn Duke into a national contender.

I'm the only Duke fan on the planet who thinks we miss on him. In fact , there are so many people already acting like he's going to Duke , I think he'll go elsewhere for spite alone.

Are you suggesting that Harry Giles is going to pick or not pick a program and university because of what some nobodies on message boards or recruiting gurus are saying? I sure hope not! That would be pretty moronic.
I've seen UK mentioned quite a bit, and in all honesty, if he doesn't choose Duke then I think it's UK. I'm sure he has a soft spot for Wake, but that's where it ends. Even with him they're not contending for an ACC championship, let alone the national championship. And something doesn't seem to sit right with him regarding UNC. Not sure what it is, but sometimes things aren't the right fit....and that applies to Duke for some kids too. It's just reality.
Then there's UK. They seem like the most likely destination, IMO, if it's not Duke. They have a proven track record and have done a great job showcasing kids who want to be one-and-done. Plus, Giles knows that no matter what, UK will compete for championships.
In the end, I think Duke wins out because that's where I see him picturing himself, and because a kid named Jayson Tatum is already committed. The two are close, and while I understand many players are "close" on the circuit, playing together is something they've discussed more than just playing around. We'll see.

I agree with everything you said DJ. I just never here UK mentioned in the mix with Giles on any boards but ours.

Not sure if this is sarcasm, but I don't think he could care any less about where Internet message boards thinks he'll go. This is one of the many times that premium is well worth the $10/month
I don't think Garbriel would have chosen UK if there was any inkling about Giles coming
UK has commitment from Sacha Killeya-Jones. Which is also a big jab to uncheat and there recruiting woes..PF is locked up at UK with Gabriel commitment Kid is from chapel hill decommited from uva and signed with UK had a big time aau circuit playing with Felton kid 2017 PG who rumored to reopen reruiting after commuting to uncheat early as a freshman... Long story short Harry Giles to Duke just waiting out the process to have fum but in the end duke I believe will be his choice.
Cal has actually sold Gabriel on playing the 3 at UK. We're tickled pink to get SKJ but he wouldn't threaten Giles for PT. I still give you guys about 80% chance of getting him but I do have a sliver of hope.

Agreed, they can hide it in the soft SEC, but when stronger teams play them, he'll struggle.
We have a quality class. But, Giles is a huge player for us. If we get him, it's a great class vs a very good one. Can't imagine a better scenario for the next two-three years.
I definitely find it interesting that Giles and all the other talented kids from NC have not looked at UNC much. The part I think is funny is that with Roy recruiting one-and-done's the fans are saying that Roy is just adapting, but when K does it, he's ruining Duke's academic reputation by getting kids to come to Duke when they have no interest in academics.
Roy has taken a lot of guys with the potential to be OAD and turned them into multiple year players. Barnes, Lawson, JMM, Ed Davis to name a few. His system is awful for a OAD and kids are realizing it.
Giles definitely puts Final Four back on the table. It's hard to know what any of it will mean though.
Justise Winslow was a lucky add on last season (you know what I mean), that wasn't heavily discussed until the months near his commitment, and which only ultimately happened after Tyus and Jah were on board. At that moment, Jah was going to be unstoppable, Tyus was probably a starter (but nothing like the Stones we know him as now), Justise was going to add defense and athleticism and Grayson an afterthought. Who stepped up to win us that title? Besides K, Justise mostly and Grayson in the last game with solid steady effort from Stones. Jah was very important as his presence countered the other bigs we faced, but he didn't close out games at all.
In the end it's about our coach and what he can get guys to buy-in to. We could win a title with what we already have this year and committed for next year, because our coach adapts (usually) to what he has, and his guys believe in him. Tatum, Jackson and DeLaurier would be enough to make a run if they bought in and we got the bounces. Adding Giles just makes that task much easier, assuming he too buys in.
I'm sort of with show. I just get skeptical at times. I hear all this positivity on the board and it makes me nervous, haha.
Want to see Giles at Duke just as much as anyone but he's not a Dukie until he says he's a Dukie. I learned a lot from Harrison Barnes. OFC
He's staying on the same timeline he's been staying on the entire time. He's going to take his visits, he's going to announce at the start of november.
