Has Bolden made any announcement about next year?

The stats really don't mean a lot. If Bolden plays on a lesser power conference team his numbers are significantly better.
If or when he declares we will see if he gets drafted in those 2 rounds. Then we can come back and revisit this.

I never said I thought he would be drafted. I just said his stats don't tell the whole story. He'd probably be better off not getting drafted, to be honest.

NBA teams could care less about your college stats. Heck, the kid that was a freshman at Texas Jaxson Hayes (from Cincinnati right down the road from me) didn't even start for Texas and he's gonna get drafted in the lottery.

I still wouldn't rule out Bolden playing in the NBA. Could very well be 3 or 4 years down the road, but there will always be a place in the league for a big that can protect the rim and guard out on the perimeter. Bolden is fine there, it's the rebounding that could hold him back.
Did anyone expect Lance Thomas to play this long?
Even Marshall Plumlee played a year or two.
Bolden will get his chance.

Lets take of our duke glasses for a minute here. Are you saying that when you watch Bolden play that you see a NBA player that will get drafted? Take into consideration of his injuries as well as what he does on the court with lack of rebounds and scoring. I never said he wouldnt play in the nba ever. I just said if he declares I dont think he will be drafted

I don't see him getting drafted this year or next year. However, a descent amount of guys currently playing in the league did not get drafted, take Quinn Cook as an example.

All I'm saying is I'd put greater than a 50% chance that 2-3 years from now Bolden will be on an NBA roster, may not get minutes, but he's gonna get a chance. Even if it's just a 10 day contract.

i think he declares so he can go thru the nba camps and get their feed back on what he needs to improve on when he comes back. no issue at all with this. think more kids should take advantage of this.

So far the people you’ve called homers have not once said he would get drafted. Maybe you should take off the “if you don’t agree with my take you must be a homer” glasses.

1. It’s clear your college stats don’t mean anything to where you get drafted.
2. It’s a pretty logical take to presume he can make an nba roster.

I think that this coming year will be the year K plays 9-10 players a game. And decent amount of minutes. Not 1-2 minutes a game.
I hope you are right. I went back and checked stats from the teams 20 years ago. There were several years that Duke played 8-9 players and a couple w 10 . If the chemistry is right this team can be special. Like to see Jones set the single season assist record.

There isnt a "Superstar" style player on the roster. (Bagley, Zion, Okafor). And there are several players with alot of experience, and I feel that that alone will push the hand that they will get playing time.(Bolden, Javin, Jack,J Gold, Alex O). I think that they wont get push out of quality minutes. Well at least not Javin and Jack. I think the experience will be a big factor for playing time, since there isnt the superstar player to hog the minutes at the Wing and Post positions.(SF-PF-C)

I know everyone goes into the summer thinking we'll have a deep bench & all of their skillsets will be utilized... only to be disappointed later on with a 7-man rotation. There are a few reasons why I think K might actually expand the bench this year.

1. There is talent. Assuming everyone stays and Stanley signs, we'll have five 5-star recruits (Jones, Bolden, Carey, Hurt, Moore) and five 4-star recruits (DeLaurier, O'Connell, Baker, Stanley, Ellis). We also have Jack White and Jordan Goldwire. 9 of these guys were top 40 recruits. Hard to sit that much talent.
2. A lot of these teams in the past have ultra-talented players leading the way. There was a clear discrepancy between the OAD freshmen and the bench the past two seasons. I don't think the gap between the first and second unit will be enormous next season.
3. We had 8 guys who averaged 14+ minutes last year. With a deeper bench, I could see a solid 9-man rotation, perhaps regular spot-minutes for others. If it is a 9-man rotation, I don't think you'll necessarily see the same 9 guys in there every game. Baker might be playing better in practice one week, maybe O'Connell a few weeks later, then Goldwire/White. Minutes will have to be earned this year, no doubt.

^Teally agree with your last 2 points. The talent discrepancy often dictated short benches. And a 8 man game rotation that varies game to game based on matchups, not dire need can be much more like a 9-10 man rotation.

Let me say again I really hope Bolden stays. Bringing a guy like Bolden in late in the game like we did at Syracuse this year will really wear teams down. Bolden's late season injury set him back. He was so close to putting it all together.
