Make no mistake, Hatcher was a future NFL player with elite quickness. He was a MAJOR part of our defense this coming season. He played very well in most games last season. This is a HUGE loss to our defense and we do not have anyone to take his place adequately next season.

Stoops had no choice, but to dismiss him. This really bites. Hatcher was huge for this upcoming season. With our major problems on defense last season, you just cannot lose players as talented as Hatcher in the SEC. I cannot believe this crap. What a blow to our defense.
Elite Quickness???
I see no one at UK with elite quickness. Hatcher is the typical spoiled football player who thinks he is above the law because he never understood that Lexington is not Louisville.

As far as I am concerned, he's a scum bag.

I'm sure UK has a policy and Hatcher has blown through it.

He chose weed over football. That simple and that stupid.
I chose weed and football ,I just light up and turn on the game ,but on a lite note maybe baker will hold on to the ball

Unfortunately Jason has multiple offenses. I hate it for him and for our program, but he has to learn a tough lesson and our program will suffer the consequences of his terrible decisions. It's a sad situation, but I respect Coach Stoops for his swift response. No need to drag it out. I hope Jason lands on his feet and makes wiser choices in the future.

I hate to see another young life crippled by the drug culture, but the program won't suffer at all. As a player, he was a bust.

No shock, not his first time in trouble and this is a felony charge. Can't believe he was dumb enough to risk an NFL career over a couple grand now.

What have you seen out of this guy's play that would give you the impression that he had even the slightest chance at an NFL career? Just because he was over-hyped as a recruit, don't mistaken that for actual ability. He sucked as a player.

None of that relates to a felony drug charge much less a trafficking - get facts straight before posting about UGA especially on another teams board please.

We haven't kept anyone on a team after felony drug charges grumpy.

Pretty sure neither has Georgia, I think UK and Georgia are among the best (worst for team talent) in disciplining players. Our coaches raved about Caffey's play at a weak DB position and he got kicked off for a second failed drug test IIRC, no criminal charges or big deal. He was talented enough to let him work through any grade problems, at UL he would have been enrolled in a new class specifically created for him, Basketweaving III.

This is not a huge loss. People including me were expecting a ton out of him last year and look what happened. It was just a matter of time for him. He would have never made it through the season and would have put this team in a bind just like he did last year.. He did this team a favor by getting arrested when he did. At least the other guys will now take his reps in spring and fall practice. He's never been reliable.

Agree. He had to go after this. The trafficking charge is completely different from simple possession. A kid should be shown the door on the FIRST offense if this much ganja is recovered. You don't want a kid who is dealing in your locker room for a MINUTE. If he is doing it, some of the kids know it. Those who know have no RESPECT for the staff and program. Only real question at this point is, who, if anyone on the squad, was so close to this knucklehead as to certainly be "in the know"? Those kids have some questions to answer, and are due their own attitude adjustment or pink slips, should they exist.

For the record, I am pro-legalization. This take has nothing to do with my attitude on weed. The simple fact is, it isn't legal, and dealing in it is still a MAJOR problem for young person in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
