Have any of you had a break-in while you were at home?

Suppose you have a gun on you and an intruder breaks into your house. You're not a drug dealer (or live with one), and you have nobody that you know of that is trying to do you harm. My point is that it can reasonably be assumed that this is a break-in for theft as opposed to harming you or you family.

So here's the question: Do you blast the guy or just threaten to shoot him so that he leaves?

Most people that break into a home are not rational. You shoot the bastard.
