You have to play him. Hes the best offensive weapon on the team. Is he ready? No.

nobody’s ready on this team. You have to play JJ. You have to let him be a freshman. You have to let him make a couple dumb plays.

Or let our seniors do the same freshman mistakes without the ceiling. Give JJ the Keys to this team. Oweh doesn’t want them. Aberdeen is seriously limited. And now u question Aberdeens intentions. His body language don’t set right with me.


matter of fact Jasper Johnson and Malachi Moreno need to take over. Pope you better get out of your ways or you’ll be the ex coach of Kentucky.


I’m not saying freshman should always run the team. We could have gotten somebody from the portal to take the load but we didn’t. With our current situation you just about have to give this team to the two Kentucky boys and hope they don’t transfer after this year. That is if Pope is the coach.

I am not sure you can play him especially during certain critical times in the game. Pope inserted him late in the game and it was a total disaster. He led the offense and couldn't even pass the ball or run the offense. He just kept dribbling and dribbling and jacked up a shot. He is not ready. Yes, play him but it has to be limited.

Yes you’re 100% correct. His ceiling is so much higher tho. He has to get to where he’s going. I feel like he can do way more than what Travis Perry did for us last year. Or maybe we all undervalued TP?

That’s kind of my point. It is smoking. Have to try something. I just feel like his upside is way higher than any guard on the team. It’s about as bad as it can get right now. I don’t remember a time in my life where UK lost the first three games of a season. Only counting non cupcakes.

Now that I think about it. Pope couldn’t even keep TRAVIS PERRY when we don’t have but one true pg on the team and he’s injured. Kentucky’s all time leading scorer that isn’t considered a huge talent. Actually kind of wild now that everything is unfolding.

One thing you can’t do at UK is lose. Hate it’s about to be hard on Pope. I hate ppl might be mean to him or his family. I hate saying he’s failing. But at the end of the day I hate Kentucky basketball losing way more than any of that.

I was also looking to the future. I’ve considered this season a wrap as far as winning anything meaningful. Call me a quitter… I’m still taking my family to Nashville Friday to go watch the game. I’d rather see the Kentucky boys with talent try than a bunch of 3rd tier players act like they are nba all stars.

I don’t mind the players we have. I just assumed they would be gritty and do anything they had to do to win. Get a little bit of that from chandler. Hell dive on the ground or make a hustle play. The attitude of this team stinks.

Hoping for some majic Friday night. We are due to get hot one of these games. Even any of us could get hot from three every once in awhile I would think.

You don't think he could help right now? He ran point a lot last year when we were actually winning. This squad sucks man. He would at least be able to free up aberdean to play the 2. That would make us better.

Hell no you don’t have to play him. He looks like he is moving in slow motion. Only looks to score. Doesn’t make anyone better around him.

He is weak with the ball. Has a long way to go to be a good player.

Against Eastern Illinois yes, Against Louisville and Michigan State never.

It’s hard to know what this guy can actually do against a good competition because he doesn’t get enough meaningful minutes. In the second half he came in and played 30 seconds at one point. Seems like maybe pulled him after going under a screen and giving up a wide open three (that UNC missed). Then Pope randomly put him in at the most critical juncture towards the end of the game.

Here’s an idea: give the kid upwards of 20 minutes against the cupcakes and let him build some confidence.

I’m really starting to think maybe he was under appreciated. He was thrown into the fire. But this year when it’s going off the tracks we can’t throw JJ in there? I’m confused. I thought JJ was a five star.

Have you not noticed the last two games he has tried to run the offense more? Hes started driving when he usually would jack up a shot. Maybe I watched wrong. I clearly see he’s not ready. These seniors aren’t either.
