Bizarre though. I’m watching a db from Vanderbilt talking smack and I’m thinking this is a school that asks students to have a 1500 SAT. What is incongruent here?
Football team has a composite 1500

After the debacle at Penn State this year, has it made it difficult to be interested in other CFB games?
had club seats for 20 years. Gave them up. Penn state football has become too expensive and the product on the field doesn't warrant the price. The cost of one weekend at State college buys the best, largest tv, and it's temperature controlled in my den.

I suspect you’re not alone. The economics of attending PSU games is beyond affordable.

Spent the day working on reconditioning my vintage (1967) all chrome Raleigh Sports 3 Speed bicycle. When my parents moved to FL for retirement in 1987, my father kept my bicycle instead of letting me keep it, as he used it for exercise, and in all kinds of weather. Unfortunately he did not take good care of it and it was in terrible condition. When I got it back it was covered with corrosion and layers of dirt and grime. It is slowly, but surely returning to its former glory.

I had totally forgot about CFB today, and probably would not have watched Penn State play, either, because I have lost a good bit of my interest in the minor league professional football team that plays in University Park, PA.

The state of college football is great and fun to watch! Check out the number of great games today. Just follow Ole Miss with Kiffin’s fun, exciting, and explosive offense. They actually complete passes longer than 10 yards.

I realize you may be down because of Penn State’s circa 1970s offense and atrocious depth at LB, DT, and WR. However, by watching the other great games you can visualize what a future Penn State team may look like under a competent coaching staff.

Remain optimistic and try to be a little patient.

The state of college football is no where near great. I would say same thing if we were undefeated and #1 or 2.

I wouldn't say that my interest level has dropped considering with the help of Multiview, I've watched some part of about 15 games today. But I was thinking around 11:30 today that it was going to be a dull day for games because PSU wasn't playing, they suck anyway, and I can't bet on the games due to an account suspension. So I've been watching with a keen eye but with very little emotion.

The length and absurd college coaching contracts in general, the fracturing of traditional conferences, Franklin's obscene buyout in particular, juxtaposed with the closure of the branch campuses (I know, different university budgets), the remaining contracts that will need to be eaten, the sunk cost in lost recruits, pandering to 16- and 17-year-olds, NIL, and the transfer portal have killed my interest in prollegiate football. I stopped watching after the UCLA game and I don't think I'll be back.

I was on the brink before this debacle of a season. This season sent me over the edge.

I wasn't as high on this team as many others going into season, parity has been incredible this year, so still very enjoyable. Nothing better than College Football.

Much less to do with the collapse, and more to do with it becoming a pro league. I’ve watched 2 games, Oregon and Iowa. Glad some folks like the product, but a few years back I wouldn’t miss a game, an I think it won’t be recognizable in 15 years

I did enjoy watching the South Carolina/ Alabama game yesterday. It kind of reminds me of life as a Jets fan. Watching other teams to see good football. That was a gutsy win for Alabama.

At least we have 4 losses. Don’t have to think about the possibility of making the playoff if this team loses and that team upsets that team.
Still making the 10 hour drive in two
Weeks to watch psu Indiana. Franklin not going to rain on my parade.
Since Kraft fired Franklin how would Franklin be raining on your parade exactly.

It all comes down to--are you a college football fan that roots for Penn State or are you a Penn State fan that dislikes college football?
How about a PSU fan that likes college football? I enjoy college football, but PSU is the only team I make sure to watch every weekend.

Fact of the matter is that it’s becomes more and more difficult for me to watch college football for the last few years. It’s just lost a lot of what I enjoyed about. That said, Penn State forgetting to show to play this year has made it really easy for me to detach from it this year.

making fun of those who say “we”

The colossal, insufferable db ... who refers to himself in 3rd person ... is making fun of how anyone else refers to themselves. Folks could refer to themselves as pretty little ponies and it still wouldn't be as embarrassing as "the rick."

Then you're a fan of Penn State that is indifferent towards the sport itself. Which is fine but that means when Penn State isn't contending you still don't care. Just like you didn't prior to Penn State being down. To me, that's not "enjoying college football". True college football fans aren't going to miss the top games.

BS…people with lives don’t have time to watch every big game in college football.

Kudos to you. What an outstanding reply.
Terrible reply. Completely off-subject. The topic was your interest THIS YEAR and whether it has waned because of PSU's struggles. Instead, that guy self-indulgently waxed on about how he lost interest years ago ... this is something he's repeated ad nauseum. He takes announced "long breaks" from posting when things are going well ... he only shows up to post when there are struggles. For some reason, he's so unfulfilled by his current life that he not only still monitors the thing he professes to not care about, but finds it prudent to wallow in any struggles/failures the program has. If the guy's life was fulfilled with his "new" interests, he would just move on ... he wouldn't be on here enjoying any struggles and looking for affirmation for his alleged abandonment of interest in this activity. He'd just be happily living his life and enjoying what he was doing.

Why in the world would I have any reason to be desperate? That’s a really dumb response.
When you make the comments you do it's out of desperation.
No matter how busy one is they have time to watch games...even if it's after the fact in a condensed version which is how I watch most games
Going hunting or golfing or countless other things is "having a life"...its making different choices. Most people aren't sitting around watching football alone. It's usually with friends and/or family.
Maybe try that? Oh that's right...its only "living" if you watch Penn State lol
