I will not post details so as to spoil it for those who want to watch but the basis is about a family friend abducting a little girl. The surrounding story is something even a twisted mind like Stephen King couldn't even imagine.

It is amazing how naïve some people are and I am not just talking about the little girl.
We watched it earlier this week. It’s really hard to believe it’s factual, but it is. Just crazy.
I watched that awful, stupid doc because of this thread. Complete waste of my life [eyeroll]. How you came to the amazing conclusion to call them naive I’ll never understand. He was a closeted homosexual and his wife was banging another guy because she was married to a homosexual. They threw their daughter under the bus so they wouldn’t be embarrassed in their Mormon cult. This was also the same group that had polygamy and child brides in the 70s so it’s no surprise the loser idiots didn’t do anything about a guy having sex with their 12 year old daughter. Just a ridiculous trash family and cult religion.
It's disgusting. I watched half of it and turned it off. I concluded the entire pack of those people are nutcases that all belong in the asylum.

Good documentary, I'm just mad that Jan's trashy parents may somehow profit from it. The naive excuse is BS. These parents are trash, they placed their standing in their BS church community over protecting their children. The only time they were OK with their admitting to their actions is when it comes time to profit from them. Their daughter was repeatedly molested by this dude and so were several others because they let him off the hook.

I kept thinking it couldn't get any crazier, and it just kept getting crazier and crazier. I was in total disbelief. The parents should be drawn and quartered. And then chopped up. And then set on fire.

I'd say Tug McGraw had more going on than a simple relief job. They pretty much sacrificed their daughters life because both parents fell for the devil.
