Well, their record is better than ours, but you have to factor in the level of competition that both teams face. Seems to me that neither coach knows what kind of effort they are going to see from their team on any given night.

I agree, Buzzard. The Herd beat Western Kentucky. WV lost to Western Kentucky.

So you choose to base your opinion on single lone common opponent. Maybe you haven't noticed that even with our dismal record against the 18th ranked toughest schedule that we are still ranked 82 places higher than Marshall with their 129th ranked SOS. Not to mention that WVU has played 10 teams ranked in the top 50 while the Herd has only played 2 top 50 teams...............all of that according to the latest rankings from Sagarin

Certainly no offense to Mr. Sagarin, but all I have to go on is what my two eyes have seen. Herd beat the common opponent, WV wasn't up to the task. Kudos to Mr. Huggins who had the foresight to take a powder.

Maybe if D'Antoni hadn't have poked the Huggy Bear then Marshall could have maybe gotten a rare win over WVU this year. But I wouldn't bet money on it either way based on how up and down both teams are from one game to the next.........

both teams suck.....but we suck in an 8 out of 10 team bid league....the herd sucks in a champion only bid league........if there are degrees of suckage then the herd suckage is worse than WVU suckage

A very accurate assessment of two very disappointing teams...both teams like a doughnut, big holes in the middle. Ours through defection , yours through injury. Very hard for me to offer a opinion on the " who stinks worse" argument, that would have to be decided on the Court and we all know one Party to that contest will not lace them up!

Aldjen Penava decided to declare for the NBA and hire an agent without consulting with anyone at MU...when he discovered that was a huge mistake, too late to unring the bell. We miss his rebounding and shot blocking prowess.

It's always ifs and buts with the Herd fans. If only we could have played WVU when they didn't have Pat White or Geno Smith.......but we had 'em if not for a fumble..........now it's if we only had Peneva.

Joe Lunardi disagrees...all I know is WV won't be one of them
He has 13-10 Texas in right now. I don't see them in once the season is completed. I see five more regular season for the Horns, including Saturday night's tilt in horrid Morgantown, WV.

Western Kentucky also beat Marshall 68-59. Marshall had to struggle to beat WKU at the Henderson Center 70-69. Scoring on last second FG for the win. So not exactly bragging rights. But I would say Herd has the edge if the two teams played this year.

Well, I was wrong about this one. First time I've watched a WV game since early season. I'm amazed at just how awful they're playing. At 58 years old, I actually think I can still shoot better than Most of those stiffs. How the hell does those two white guards see action? I'm not sure they could start for Midland Trail.

No argument from me. In fact, I told Mrs. Buzzard that our son (who was not the least bit athletically inclined) could probably get a lot of playing time on this years version of WVU basketball and do as well. She laughed and agreed with me.

Not so sure...we could easily lose to WVU! Especially now that Elmore can't find the bottom of the basket to save his life!

WVU is a lock to play below .500 , the Herd by virtue of a softer slate has a slim chance of playing above .500. But we're both sad!

No doubt WVU will finish below .500. They might not win another game. They can't handle adversity.
