dont know what happened but typically when I plugged the cable from my camera into my computer I'd get an autoplay box on the screen to prompt me. Now if I plug the cable into the PC I get a sound that indicates a connection but no autoplay box. I have to go to explorer to manually import the pics. Anybody know what I can do to correct this?

The original prompt was some sort of button to automatically transfer the pictures?

Might be a setting in the camera that is turned off?
Maybe there's an update to the software?
Reinstall the software?

Hard to say without seeing it in person.. plus I haven't messed around with a digital camera in years.. but those are the first things you'd do when troubleshooting almost anything computer related.

So you can still import the pics, but it just takes an extra step? Sounds like you're whining to The Paddock because you're lazy.

This is actually a common problem. Your PC wiring is not factory compliant. Open it up, disconnect all the internal wires, then reroute them. Then wire the red one directly to the metal cabinet and power your PC on just to test it.
