I love how this topic seems to be dominated by PSU fans. But, I love even more how PSU fans are even more invested in me.
The only thing better than seeing a plan come together is knowing that all that hard work wasn’t wasted.

3-4 AA, no one in finals, 6th or 7th place team finish, pink slips in mailboxes.

I agree that Seidel is probably the best path you can get when he gets a top 4 seed. He’s hasn’t been on the Blaze/Jax, or even Davino level at any point in his career and his fast start in his NCAA career hasn’t included facing anyone of even Ayala’s level this year, so he may or may not have leveled up more than others. Remains to be seen.
I posted something very similar on the BWI board about Ayala getting himself in trouble with his seed and he can’t afford a slip up at B1Gs at all or he’s going to be in a real bad spot. As it stands now, he’s probably facing someone who has been wrestling as good as him in the round of 16 and if he gets through that, he’s facing better guys than him from the quarters on. Unless he gets Seidel in the quarter.
I think that the last couple weeks have shown he’s probably capable of beating one of the big 4 in an upset if the match breaks right for him, but doubling that up would be really doubtful.

Dan Gable was one. Nick Saban later in life (fired early in his career as a Defensive Backs Coach at Ohio State), Jay Wright & Tony Bennett are some of the most recent. I appreciate your stance and share your concern. For as stubborn as Tom is, he’s toed the line with what his employer expects from him. Whether it’s his own free will or a behind the scenes conversation about changes, I believe it will give the impression of Tom going out on his own terms.
I’m with you…multiple finalists and a top 3 finish followed by an upward trend next year even with our 3 big departures. And even then I want different assistants in the room. We need some F’ing offense, and it can’t only be against MSU or the D2/D3 schools. We are embarrassing right now.

I put the over under at 3.5 All Americans and if Angelo is wrestling (and healthy) more like 4. You have to take into account the Iowa discount in March, like injuries and underperformance.
A respectable showing in post season. If kids show up and wrestle for him he may get enough support to move forward with the program. If it's a poor post season the heat will definitely be on
On both sites, any time @dicemen99 turns analytical and @Wrestleknownothing brings statistical hips to the party, the thread stock rises.
My outsider take sees 4 solid AAs (Ayala, Cali, PK, Angelo), with Peterson and Williams in the mix. Not feeling Nasir or Ryder at this time, nor Ben until he remembers how to take first period shots against quality opponents.

Just a little advice real quick there is no way to know until all wrestlers are qualified the last coaches and rpi rankings come out so maybe not as much as you think. you can have a guess but that would be it.

If Peterson finishes BT Runner up, he’ll have one of highest RPI, probably #3 coaches Rank and a second place conference finish. Plus head to head twice over Spratley.

Yep fully aware of the criteria. Because of the known criteria, if the matches go the way I explained, I think Peterson could get a 3 seed.
As far as I know, NOBODY has ever been able to fully understand and comprehend the seeds even after the brackets are released. Flo Wrestling has had shows on it and weren’t able to say this is exactly how it works.
sometimes the actual criteria used by the seeding committee isn’t made public, like coaches rankings and the full RPI spread sheets. I guess if you have access to the same information the seeding committee has, you would know.
He is just laying out one way it could go. Some of us junkies like making guesses and looking ahead. I like reading these examples and thinking about how it could look all the while knowing nobody is saying this is how it will actually be. I can't understand why you didn't just skip over his post without trying to belittle what he was saying. He is one of the best posters on any board and many of us like reading his thoughts. You seem very versed in seeding so why not lay out some of your best educated guesses?
I can't even guess how 133 will play out seed wise but everybody in that bracket is headed for a field scattered with land mines. I think Drake will use veteran savvy to find a way deep into the bracket and finish top 5. I can't remember a weight this deep with a perfect mix of established veterans and all world youngsters. We are all going to be treated to a bracket we will talk about for years. Side note- Drake is going to do very well in freestyle if he pursues it full time. Does anyone think he could still make 57 kg? I realize Spencer is the man here, but Drake would add another very solid guy to team USA.
