Cal tweeted that Dom had a minor procedure and may or may not play tomorrow. I was really hoping to see more from him and the new look to the platoon but wish him the best and hope he heals soon.

You know, I didn't think of that. I wonder if it was anything to do with the forearm shiver?

If he can't go, I would put Lyles in the first platoon, Willis in the second.

I'm not comfortable yet with Willis starting a game.

I doubt Willis starts either platoon. I would like to see it but I don't think it happens.

If he does, and does not play well, people will just blame it on the Harrisons.

That makes no sense. Start & play 20 minutes, come off bench & play 20 minutes. What's the difference?!?!
Now if it's a close game, then the final 10 minutes we'll see the 5-7 most effective players thus far in the game, which would probably not include Willis (or Hawkins if he could play).

Put Lyles back in with both platoons, or you could use Aaron as the double platoon.

See, when we did that before, we started having close games..

Probable sounds like they expect him to play. Let's keep our fingers crossed that he does.

I'm not one of those dedicated Willis disciples, but if Hawkins is questionable, would love to see Cal start Willis tomorrow just to see how he would respond. He played well in the Bahamas, so there's no reason to think he'd be a complete bust.

I think if Willis doesn't start to get some decent PT this year, he's definitely gone. He has to be looking at what Wiltjer is doing and thinking about moving on.

Difference between Wiltjer and Willis is Wiltjer is from the West Coast and Willis is from Bullitt Co.

I don't see "probable," I see "questionable."

And I do think there may be a difference in starting a player vs. coming off the bench, yes. Nerves, etc.

Probable...questionable.... Either way he may or may not go. We could really use him tomorrow and his tenacious D!!

Welll that and Willis is a very good athlete and trys to play D where as Kyle was a below average athlete who could care less about playing D. Give me Willis any day of the week over Kyle , though he is just what Gonzaga needs since they never stop anyone anyways and love to shoot .

We beat the crap out of UNC, UCLA and basically beat UL on the road by double digits doing it that way as well.

Playing 9 guys did not make us miss all those easy shots against A&M or help Ole Miss hit everything they threw up.

No Einstein, the difference is Willis is much more athletically gifted than Wiltjer.

I know it was in the pre-season in the Bahamas trip but Willis was part of 5 in 5 out platoon with Hawkins and it worked out fine. That is when WCS and Lyles was still recovering from their injuries and didn't play in the Bahamas. Willis did fine in the Bahamas which was decent competition for Kentucky. Willis also shot well from outside and his 3 point shot was falling. He played good defense in the bahamas games. I would give Willis a shot in the platoon and if he is not playing that well in the 1st platoon team then make adjustments to your lineup for the rest of the game tomorrow.

I somehow think UK will survive one way or the other. They did beat UNC, UCLA and UL without Hawkins playing in 2/3 of those games and not playing a major role at all in the other (UCLA).

I hope he can play though, I did like the D and energy he brought the other night.

I don't know what Cal will do if he does not play though, that is anyone's best guess. If Willis practiced well this week, he may get a run at one of the platoons, but if not, may be back to 9 man rotation. And if the game is close, as some are predicting it will be, he is not going to platoon much in the 2nd half at all anyways. The best players will play, and that is neither Hawkins or Willis.
