I really enjoyed it. It kept my attention throughout the entire series and it's only 6 episodes. I thought the show was casted really well. A lot of recognizable faces. Worth a watch IMO.

I was bored. The only character I liked was the son. Beautifully filmed, but given the locations that should be a given.

Meh. It had its moments in each episode but seemed like with the build up it could have been so much more.

Haven’t seen Mare yet.

Mare is on a different level, white lotus was a quirky fun watch. Mare is a dramatic extremely well done mini series. It’s absolutely one of the best uses of a soundtrack I’ve experienced in some time. The sound track of white lotus added so much to the mood and tone IMO

The writers of White Lotus did a good job of allowing you to hate virtually every character by the middle of the second episode; at some point you wanted every one of them carted off dead...except for maybe Alexandra D of course.

I enjoyed White Lotus overall, and agree with the posts saying that the vast majority of characters were truly unlikeable. About the only ones that weren't were the son (after an episode or two once you got to realize his situation), and the spa manager/therapist. Honestly, at times, even though I liked the show overall, sometimes the onscreen interactions were so cringe-inducing it was hard to watch. I also found the soundtrack to be overwrought and similarly off-putting, to the point that it gave me a headache at times, but it also oddly "fit" with the rest of the show that way in that it was also unlikeable.

I just wish they could have left the office scene out and just let you use your imagination or have them kissing. THAT was a little much.

I thought it was excellent. Love that type of darkish humor.
I guess humor is subjective because I didn't find myself laughing any at all. If it was supposed to be a comedy I guess I didn't understand it at all. Again I guess it just wasn't my taste and nothing against anyone who did like it. Napoleon Dynamite is another one of those films that some people find it hilarious and other don't find the humor in it.

Just finished Mare. Great show based on your rec. Got anymore goodies like that?
Havent started it yet (only 2eps available I believe) but American Rust on Showtime looks like it could be a good one. Tough to see Jeff Daniels in a serious role but I will start it in a few weeks so I can binge.

The scene (maybe episode 5?) where the family is eating dinner and the dad was talking about colonialism and Hawaii was absolute brilliant, funny and cringe worthy.
