Heading down to Durham next week - what's new?

Arriving Thursday for an extended reunion weekend with family (including two young kids). I haven't been to Durham in 10 years (before we had kids), and I am sure a lot has changed. Any recommendations for good/fun new restaurants and/or fun new family things to do?

We plan to go the DBAP for a Duke-Miami baseball game and we'll do the Lemur Center tour, but have some free time on Monday and Tuesday. Thanks for any suggestions. I also wonder if any of the players will still be working out--I guess we can take a look.

Going to be a busy time on campus since it's reunion weekend for a lot of alumni. I'm heading back myself. Wish I had some new recommendations for you, but I've only visited old haunts from college when I've been back.

Does K show up? I know a guy that went to his reunion there and had pics and video of K talking and visiting with graduates and gave a speech actually. I didn't know if that was a regular thing it not

I can tell you whats new just down the road from Durham in the little town of Chapel Hill. Seems to be much paranoia about conspiracy theories and the like. Also appears to be a great deal of denial about reality.

Good idea, Pisgah. I was hoping we might get lucky and see him around Cameron or the practice facility, but maybe he is formally on the agenda for some event, I will do some searching and asking around.

Are they selling Cheaters / National Runners- Up t-shirts down there? I have no doubt they lost their minds on Monday.

Now I remember seeing that Coach K just had knee replacement surgery, so he probably won't be out and about much for at least a few weeks.

He did not show up at last year's reunion.

Crime and Murder are on the rise. Nothing new actually but you may wanna swing by Durham PD and see if you can borrow a vest or two.

Hope you guys have a blast and see some players while you're down.

If you haven't been within the last year, there is a fairly new banner hanging in CIS.
