Heading into tournaments looking like a terrible team

Would not have beat any top 150 team yesterday.

And lucky to beat an awful TCU team the other day.

This doesn’t bode well. I’m actually thinking 900 will come next year.

Eh, it's never as good as CFE portrays it to be after a win or as bad as it seems to be after a loss to an underdog. No. 900 will come in the first NCAA Tournament game, if it doesn't happen in Kansas City.

Maybe you could try arguing that I’m wrong. I’m not wrong about the last 2 games but you could try

Played poorly the last two games. However to say they would not have beaten any top 150 team is asinine.

WVU just set the rest of the Big 12 up. After that fiasco with the Cowboys everyone is worried about Baylor, Kansas, Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, not Huggins Heroes. Perfect scenario to sneak up on everyone in T-Mobile ... as long as Huggins Heroes aren't immobile again!

Shouldn't be worried about anyone except the team in front of you.

You are talking about everyone but missing Oklahoma State

Any team who is thinking about any other team won't last too long.

I agree. You can NOT have a letup on Thursday, Friday or Saturday or you're toast. If Cowboys jayvee beating you wasn't a cannon wearing shot then Huggins Heroes are deaf, which are letters also in defeat. I'm fired up for the Cowboys re-shootout! Sure hope my alma mater is.

Basketball is weird.

You have one ball on the court so sometimes players who you think are average can put up points when given the chance.

I think WVU could have some guys like that.
Oklahoma St definitely does.

But they have a guy like Cade Cunningham who is a future #1 pick who will take those shots

Funny thing is Oklahoma State will lose Cunningham and could be better next year.

No matter what happens, I hope they play like they care. The last two games, like the east Carolina game a while back, this team couldn’t muster enough energy to care

Why can't be exchange reliable information about WVU instead of trading insults. That became demeaning after 4th grade. It doesn't enhance your manhood. It lowers others' opinion of you. Little 10-year-olds wrestling the mud. Sheesh!

We area good team but we have to play some better defense to make any kind of a run in either tournament, and get hot shooting.

When Huggins Heroes are at their best they can beat any team in the nation, including Gonzaga and Baylor.

When they play like they did against Oklahoma State, they are Huggins Zeroes.

It's on them on Thursday to be Heroes or Zeroes. I sure hope its Heroes because I LOVE this team!

WVU is a decent team.
Going to be a tough out.

But your logic has flaws....

Because don't you think Baylor and Gonzaga look at WVU the same way WVU looks at Oklahoma State.

Difference is both Baylor and Gonzaga found a way to win.

WVU did in the first game against Oklahoma State after being down by 20 but couldn't in the second game.

You are hoping for the highs but forgetting the lows.

Sad thing is the highs are 2 losses. So I wouldn't say WVU can beat any team in the country until they actually do.

Because you are setting yourself up for failure.

Just matters the bracket
Last two Sweet 16 matchups WVU was given the **** end of the stick.

NC Finalist in Gonzaga in 17
NC in Villanova in 18

"don't you think Baylor and Gonzaga look at WVU the same way WVU looks at Oklahoma State."

Ah, speaking of flaws, Baylor in overtime knew it was in a tossup game. Even Gonzaga trailed with 6 minutes left. Neither were flukes. If WVU played Baylor and Gonzaga 10 times who things that Baylor and Gonzaga would win all 10? Nobody with any sense. WVU is MUCH closer to the level of Gonzaga and Baylor, as their games with those super teams proved, than Oklahoma State. And Baylor and Gonzaga is NO way looked at WVU the way that WVU looked at Oklahoma State with its Big 12 Player of the Year on the bench with an injury.

I know you hate it when I'm right, but don't make yourself look so foolish.

I Don't see your logic here..

Avery Anderson can score 15-20 points a game if needed.
But Oklahoma St doesn't need him to

You can **** on Oklahoma State all you want or you can acknowledge they have players who can come off the bench and score 30 points..

Avery is a good kid. Has a good story behind him. He is hungry and trying to take care of his family.

You have to fight and claw for everything...

More than that Baylor and Gonzaga don't have to respect WVU...

Same way you aren't respecting Oklahoma State

But Oklahoma State showed up to fight and they won because of that.

You should know Huggins better than that. He expects his teams to fight and claw.

I saw that in the game. Watch McBride for about the last 6-7 minutes

Avery is a 4 star player and nearly rate a 5. You act as if OSU had only 2 players on their entire team.

Oklahoma State was loaded with talent not just Cade and Likeele kid.

I DON'T **** ON ANY PLAYER, WVU OR OPPONENT. I'VE SAID TIME AND TIME AGAIN THAT I GIVE OKLAHOMA STATE CREDIT FOR PLAYING A FANTASTIC, ENERGTIC GAME WITHOUT 2 STAR PLAYERS. IF YOU CAN'T SEE MY LOGIC THEN IT'S BECAUSE YOU'RE BLINDED BY YOUR ENVY OF ME. YOU HAVE MY PITY. NOW, LET'S OUT-SHOOT THE COWBOYS AND MAKE EVERY TRUE WVU FAN HAPPY!!!!

This is an astounding fact that everyone dumping on WVU should emblazon in their memory: The Mountaineers played the TOUGHEST schedule of ANY TEAM IN AMERICA! That's right, the winning percentage of WVU's opponents was better than the winning percent of any other team's opponents, including Gonzaga. WVU went 18-8 against the TOUGHEST schedule in America, documented! Include that when you're weighing the pros and cons of Huggins Heroes!

Look at the scores of both games WVU played against Oklahoma State...

Your logic of WVU being up there with Baylor and Gonzaga is based on the game.

You also have the Florida game...

Doesn't work, brother

Great team who will fight and claw for everything.
Don't think anyone wants to play WVU but there should be no expectations of this Elite 8/Final 4 run until you see the bracket.

There is proof that WVU could be vulnerable in the first two rounds as well

OK, YOU KEEP SEEING THE DARK CLOUDS AND I'LL KEEP SEEING THE SILVER LININGS. AND I'LL BE HAPPIER THAN YOU EVERY DAY OF MY LIFE NO MATTER HOW THE GAME TURNS OUT. MY 3 CHILDREN, 7 GRANDCHILDREN AND 5 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN HAVE MORE TO DO WITH MY HAPPINESS THAN HUGGINS HEROES, AS MUCH AS I LOVE THIS TEAM. YES, I'M MUCH HAPPIER WHEN WVU WINS THAN WHEN THEY LOSE. BUT THE SUN COMES UP THE NEXT DAY, NO MATTER WHAT. AND I WAKE UP EVERY MORNING AND LOOK IN THE MIRROR AND SEE THAT I'M NOT DEAD AT THE AGE OF 88. EVERY DAY IS A GREAT DAY TO BE A MOUNTAINEER. JUST ASK JACK FLEMING'S MOM. SHE SAID IT WAS SO. JACK JUST REPEATED ON THE AIR WHAT HIS MOUNTAIN MOMMA TOLD HIM.

Nothing wrong with that, brother.

Problem is when you raise the expectations to an unreachable level you aren't happy.

Not about silver linings. Expecting a perfect day everyday.

Life isn't like that. Neither is the basketball team.

So why you are trying so hard to find some way to justify losing to Oklahoma State

Ultimately I agree that I am a bit worried coming up. Hopefully this team didn't peak in January/early February. But they have had too many games the last 3 weeks where the level of play puts them at one and done territory for the big dance.

This season does bode well for next year though, especially if Taz sticks around. Gabe could always be useful and should be welcome, but if Cottrill is back next year, I see him cutting into Gabe's minutes. Thus I think Taz returning is more important for WVU to build on next year. This is assuming Culver doesn't head out early.

They haven't played a 13, 14 or 15

Oklahoma is a 6-8.
More like a second round matchup.

Kansas St, TCU and Iowa St are non tournament teams.

Oklahoma St is a 3-5
A Sweet 16 matchup.

But I would think a first round matchup against a team who will come in and out WVU West Virginia is an issue
Similar to SFA.

Even as a 2, 3 or 4 they will have to fight and claw for everything

I AM ALWAYS HAPPY. THE MAN OF LA MANCHA IS MY ROLE MODEL. WHEN I WENT TO MADRID I PATTED HIM AND THE HORSE HE WAS ON AND SAID, "THANKS FOR SHOWING ME THE WAY." YOU MUST DREAM THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM TO ACHIEVE GREATER THINGS IN LIFE! YES, PERFECTION IS IMPOSSIBLE. THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU DON'T TRY TO IMPROVE AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. WVU SPORTS IS THE GREATEST ENTERTAINMENT VALUE IN LIFE TO ME. IF THEY WIN, I'M HAPPY FOR THE PLAYERS AND HUGGINS. IF THEY LOSE, I FEEL BAD FOR THE PLAYERS AND HUGGINS. THEN I HUG MY 3 CHILDREN, BY 7 GRANDCHILDREN AND MY 5 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN. BEST OF BOTH WORLDS FOR ME. TRY IT. IT'S BETTER THAN BEING A NEGATIVE NANNY.

Btw Mickey gave me my start. Never mentioned you. It's bad enough that you can't post without false bragging but name dropping to build yourself up is pathetic. Go play somemore miniature golf. Lol
