According to healthcare.gov, my premiums will be just shy of doubling.

I would say "Thanks Obama" sarcastically, but it would be insincere.

My premiums look like they'll be more than my mortgage.

This thing may not have been designed to protect the nest egg of spoiled boomers at everyone else's expense, but that's sure as hell one of the side effects. Claim virtually no income and then get heavy subsidies on premiums that have already been shifted to younger, healthier people.

This thing is a disaster on every level.

This thing was designed to fail. There was never ANY intent or notion that obammer care would be a success. Once the "millions" of previously uninsured enjoy the benefits of having insurance, no politician...at least career politician...will have the fortitude or support to eliminate their benefits. Same as welfare. The whole goal from the very beginning was nationalized, guv'ment run health care. We think the current system is broken? Wait until Washington runs it.

The fault ultimately lies with the American people. They vote for people based on stupid reasons instead of policy. Anyone with a brain saw this coming. Price controls have never worked and never will. On top of that, comprehensive insurance further removes the consumer from the transaction. Without those links, markets don't work. The only way to bring health care cost under control is to institute market forces into the transactions. Liberals do not want that at all. Unfortunately, there is a fair chance voters will do it again in this election.
