I am hoping for a Florida bowl, but if not, I want the MCB. I definitely don't want the Belk Bowl. Who wants to play in North Carolina against a North Carolina school? Plus if Mitch is worth a crap as an AD, he will say no to it because of the basketball game. He isn't going to want them both on TV at the same time. Plus it could effect people who want to go to both. I know the football first people don't want to hear that, but I can't see him sacrificing one for the other.

We might drop down to the Liberty because of the basketball schedule. It would be great for people who want to go to both games, but I am still hoping for better.

What exactly is the draw to Charlotte other than a 7 hour drive from many parts of Ky? Not being smart, I have never been and have no idea what it offers. I do like Nashville but agree that it is old hat. However, I will go for sure if it is there but not so sure about Charlotte based on the long drive. I get driving a long way to get somewhere sunny like the Gator, but Charlotte....not so much.

Not much there unless you're into the banking business. Newer city. A lot built in the last 20 years, but there's not really any 'special' character to the town. No entertainment district that I'm aware of.
Used to go there on business and have a step-daughter who lives there now.

Charlotte is the biggest turd of a city. Great airport to fly in, easy to work during the week. It has zero redeeming entertaining value. Hell, Triangle is better or Asheville. It is Columbia SC minus banking and traffic.

We haven't been to the MCB since Brooks last year. So I don't get why fans feel so entitled that they prefer another bowl. And the players don't give a crap about where they play. Post season play is all new to them. I'll be happy for whatever bowl they go to.
Amen to that. Those bitching about having to go to the same destination need to grateful they can afford to go to such a game in the first place.

Yeah....Charlotte isn't exciting by any means. Went to Dolphins @ Panthers preseason game on a whim last season coming back from Hilton Head....the closest thing to an exciting district we found was the bar setup around UNC-Charlotte. Downtown didn't really seems situated around the stadium for big time football tailgating. Ended up talmong basketball in a parking lot with Tar Heels and drinking with them. I dunno....Charlotte just isn't great by any stretch of the imagination.

Maybe I'm crazy but, assuming Alabama beats Florida, doesn't it look something like this?

CFP: Bama
Sugar: Auburn
Citrus: Florida

Outback: LSU
Taxslayer: A&M
Belk: Georgia
MCB: Tennessee
Liberty: UK
Heart of Texas: Arkansas

Independence: So Car
Birmingham: Vandy

My reasoning: Bama is obvious in CFP. Sugar takes the next best SEC team, and I think they take Auburn (though I guess could take LSU, wouldn't affect us). Citrus has to take a division winner if possible, so Florida can't drop lower than that. The next 6 are technically equal but I listed them in my personal opinion of relevance. I feel like those 6 teams (LSU, A&M, UGa, Ewe Tee, Cats, Ark) are clearly the next 6 choices, with USCe and Vandy the obvious last two choices. Outback is the "best" and will get LSU (or Auburn if Sugar takes LSU). I have it on some authority that Taxslayer wants an SEC-W team as they've had SEC-E teams of late. I think UGa and UT are ahead of us in the pecking order so I think they get Belk/MCB in some combination, leaving us with Liberty. Arkansas to Heart of Texas based on geography.

It's been mentioned, but I think the basketball game conflict with Belk hurts us, but I also don't see how we jump UGa or UT. We travel, but so do they.

I hope I'm wrong as I'd prefer Taxslayer, then Belk, then MCB over Liberty, but hard to see us getting picked ahead of any of the teams listed.

Capital One Orange can take an SEC team, but I think the B10 probably has better choices available.

It's a pleasant enough city, but has very little to distinguish itself from other large cities. You certainly aren't going to find international tourists going to Charlotte for a vacation. You will see them in Nashville and Memphis. You would probably be more likely to see them in Louisville or Lexington for that matter. Charlotte is rapidly growing, and it has a very major airport but as far as tourism goes, it's a big blah. It's about as distinctive or interesting as Columbus.

Charlotte is not Nashville in terms of entertainment. I mean I hear they have a Hilton Garden Inn on Billy Graham Blvd. It has Karoke on Thursday nights. It is a terrible town as far as that, pretty topography but a destination city to go for a bowl. Hell no.

Charlotte is good place to fly into, work a couple days in. Rather be in Spartanburg or Rocky Mt.

Ecstatic that we're going to a bowl, but definitely hoping for MCB or a Florida bowl(which probably isn't happening.) Really not interested in Belk Bowl, too long of a drive, it's on a Friday which is a work day for many people, low revenue, and Charlotte seems pretty boring. MCB provides $1M more in revenue, it's on a Saturday night, and Nashville is an awesome city. Food, Atmosphere, Spending New Years there, and the fact it's basically a home game in a pretty nice stadium where majority will be blue. Count me in. However if we go to the Belk Bowl I'll still be there.
