As it stands, if Barker goes down the replacement QB is....no one! If the information is correct we, as fans, should rejoice that an offensive lineman will not be forced to play QB.

Gunnar Hoak will be on campus in January. Davis Mattingly is already on campus.

You are correct. Please excuse my ignorance. However, neither of those players has taken a snap at the college level. The JUCO guys have some experience beyond high school and UK needs as much experience as possible. Is the guy likely to take the SEC by storm? No. But, he might bring a little needed depth at a depleted position.

If UK does in fact land Gran, I'd rather have someone familiar with the offense like Kiel. He's proven to be successful at this level and has amassed a ton of passing yards.

IF Kiel were to come and that's a big IF right now, I would say says he's almost guaranteed to start next year. I don't see any way he transfers to compete for a starting job when he already has one. I would love to have him be our starter next year. He is proven, there will be no learning the new offense/language and he would be like a coach on the field helping guys learn the new offense. Also, Stoops was very hesitant to give Barker the job (almost by default) in the first place. Barker didn't do anything to make me think he's ready to be the starter next year while learning his 3rd offense in 3 years. Stoops needs to win next year by any means necessary.

I also would love the idea of bringing in Kitt if we get Gran. He seems to be leaning towards UC currently. He's a 5.6 3* with good size. He was a 4* all American out of high school when be signed with Clemson. Stoops and company have shown a good eye for juco talent with Big Z, CJ Johnson Melvin Lewis, Javess Blue and Nate Willis. All of these guys were solid contributors and some were fantastic.

This^^^ Add Stamps to this list as solid JUCO players that was a two year starter and Miggons who played decent in his first year as a back up. Also have Leavitt coming in with high expectations. JUCO's are always going to be a risky proposition. But Stoops and Co and hit at a much higher rate with JUCO's then they have missed so far.....so i don't really know why we wouldn't see this addition as a positive scenario...

Patrick Loney said the kid had not spoken with UK when this thread started. The kid is now following Gran on Twitter. Loney also said TaDarryl Marshall will officially visit on the 22nd.

It would. My opinion is that the juco ranks are high risk type of players that have failed to pan out for various reasons. Some of which are grade related or simply not good

Ha! Yeah, Cam would've started at Florida had he not left. Big difference.
