I don’t put it past him to vote no to spite Trump. He’s trying to setup for another run in 2024 and do so by trying to play to the middle. He’s going to be very surprised at the lack enthusiasm for his brand of politics when he does during the primaries.

I am not surprised, we have a lot of mormons out here and they would go apeshit if Romney voted against a conservative judge to change the court.

I thought for certain he would make Pence break the tie, to do his best to make Trump lose the election. He still might.
:joy: :joy: :joy:

Classic battered wife syndrome you mega Trump swallowers have.

Orange Man broke you!!!

Hell this is probably the best thing to happen to anti Trump conservatives. We got 3 Justices out of him, now we can go back to actual conservative governing and let Trump go.

I think Collins will vote for the nominee as well, voting against them would almost guarantee her loss this election.

If he gets his 3rd pick for the court... I won't nearly care as much about what happens in November. My next concern will be Senate control and Senate rules. I asked Shelly if she thought Chuck would change the rules for cloture if the Dems retake the Senate, and she's pretty certain he will try to. If that happens, then I'll worry again about more bad legislation making it's way through during Biden's first 2 years.

Agree Senate is a bigger deal, though I don't think I am as concerned about the Senate removing the filibuster.

BTW, I think you are still gonna vote for Trump, so you weren't specifically the group I was talking about.

What I don't get is why Trump gets any credit for this. Any Rep that would've won the 2016 election would've done the same. I guess he should get some credit for winning the election and being in position to choose, but his choices aren't any more conservative than Jeb Bush's or Mitt Romney's (I realize he didn't run) would've been.

Nyceer is so mad. He was so confident yesterday
I'm not mad, but I'm certainly disappointed w/ Mitt's decision. I would not consider my posts yesterday to convey confidence. Maybe they did, but that was unintended. Its obviously an uphill battle to stop this confirmation.

I'm voting for Jo. But a Biden WH, Dem Senate and House, with a Biden SCOTUS appointee scare me a hell of a lot more than a Trump WH, Dem Senate and House, with a Trump SCOTUS appointee. Just looking at Biden's platform... there's nothing economically that stands out as being better than Trump, on the flip side, it's so much more invasive.

It's not something that deserves credit, other than they have been good selections so far IMO.

Wat?

BTW have a fan go back and dig up my posts from 2016. I've always been more afraid of the Dems taking over the Senate. Hillary would have been the best defense against that and Trump is the worst thing to keep it red. I think the GOP keeps the Senate, thankfully.

Jo Jorgensen, she's the Libertarian candidate this go round.

I'm typically more comfortable with a WH being split party wise from the Senate and House. The only thing that worries me now, as I said I said, is Schumer reducing the cloture vote to 50. They do that if Biden wins, and every piece of **** legislation that Pelosi and Chuck wants will get rammed through with nothing to stop it for at least 2 years.
