They were 1-6 against teams with a winning record, losing by an average score of 42-17.
They were 2-0 against 0.500 teams with an average score of 18-17.
They were 4-1 against teams with a losing record/FCS with an average score of 31-13.
They were 0-2 against P5 teams with an average score of 47-7.
The only team they beat with a winning record was Ohio, with a score of 37-34.

Defense should dominate Akron. They were bad last year (regardless of overall record) and they lose quite a few skill players and lineman. Their projected starting o line is small and looks like a high school team. The qb is a decent dual threat, but isn’t very accurate or consistent. That was also mainly against MAC teams, as he wasn’t the starter the entire year. Our aggressive defense should cause major problems for them. If they play well against of D, it may be another long year for the defense.

On offense, we should be able to push (and wear down) their d line. They do have decent experience returning from a pretty bad defense last year (sounds familiar), but there is no reason our offense shouldn’t be able to move with ease. As long as we don’t turn it over, we should score a lot.

Score prediction: 56-14

If there is a Statement game early, I think it’s next week against Colorado....Majority of people won’t be shocked if Nebraska beats a Akron team 49-17...

But next week if we beat Colorado say 42-21 that will be more of a statement and other fans may take more of a notice then the season opener.

Sounds right to me, especially if we run through them. Beating Colorado always puts me in a good mood!
