Patriots showed us how fast your fortune can turn in the NFL.. this ain't baseball or the NBA.. If Mendoza is legit, and I think he is, no reason to think Da Raiders can't do the same.

There's a huge difference between the ownership of the Patriots and the ownership of the Raiders. I like Mendoza, and I hope he's a great NFL player... but getting the Raiders to the top will be a tough ask.

...doesn't Brady have a stake in Da Raiders? Good enough for me.
He does. But I'm not convinced his skills as a QB translate to managing a team. I have no doubts he'd be great at identifying the right guys from a mentality stand point. But theres a difference in managing a team as a peer and managing a team as a leader. Im also not sure how much control he really has as a minority owner.

Elway took quite awhile to figure it out. Granted I dont think he had the same dog in him Brady has. But still seems like a relevant comparison...

Except the Raiders OL is very very bad, their pass D is not good, gave up 3rd most rushing TDs in the NFL, had the worst 3rd down defense, one of the worst scoring defenses, one of the worst in takeaways.

Fernando Mendoza isn't fixing all those problems. The Raiders have more issues than the Patriots have had in the last 30 years combined.

All those positions are fixable and you don't need the #1 pick in the draft to do it. Get the QB, then fill in the gaps.

This is why I think they'll depart with Maxx Crosby...he's an elite pass rusher and they should be able to get a haul for him and truly start a rebuild

I agree. I'd hate to lose him, but this franchise is not a couple players away. I honestly even think the Raiders should trade the #1 pick if they can get a good haul. Mendoza isn't this undeniable QB IMO. I could be wrong, but I also think this an extremely weak QB class as well.
